Okay I am having a few issues with balancing out some of my mechs once I get them on their bases. How do you guys counter weight them to not tip over? _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

If you are using the standard bases, you can fill the tops up to the lip with lead or similar material to add extra weight below the center of gravity. Other thing you can do is add small piece of something under the mech on the side it tends to tip over on. If the mech tends to tip backwards place a smal item(tooth pick shaft for example) under the rear of the mech's feet/base. The mech will look a bit leanning but it has helped me keep my Omnimech models from tipping over. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

I fill the top of my base with glue. Glueing in steel washers will also work. And make sure you file all the burrs off the bottom, and make the bottom as flat as possible.

Many times if It looks like it will be an unbalanced mini I play around with the arms and weapons with the newer stuff that comes to be assembled. Also I will bend the body itself, more true with older minis. Finally I will reposition the Mech on the hex base itself. So if it leans forward I move it farther back on the base.
BTW I use a lot of the plastic basis by Chessex. Work great for light to medium Mechs and any vehicle or infantry. And for $.25 (for you Euros that is even more butt cheap) you can not go wrong.

We had a guy use debris to counterweight his mechs. He made it look like he was stepping over mech Parts.... _________________ Sir Henry

you could also try what we did for the pinewood derby cars of placing the weights in the underside of the base by drill out a cavity. Works wonders and keep it concealed. Dunno if u can we certain base designs though. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.
