Hi - this will be an embarrassingly simple question which has very little to do with the site per se but is more about me not being very IT-savvy at all.
Thanks to the wonderful buttons on top of the posting window, I can insert URLs into the text. But how do I make these appear behind words. Usually, I'd just enter a URL, highlight it and then press the button. Something like this:
[url]EXAMPLE[/url]
How can I manage to select a word in a sentence and use that as the button that will lead to the destination of the URL? Rather than having the ugly URL stuck somewhere in the message? Something like the following:
You won't believe what I read on this site! - where the underlined "this" would be the link.
Thanks for your patience! _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

If you want to use BBCode in your post to make a link with normal words, it would look like this:
The coolest site ever!
That will give you a link that reads "The coolest site ever!" _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

You wish to use this code:

So this:

Thanks guys, you're awesome!
But you already knew that.
And you already knew that I knew that.
And you already knew that I've known this for the better part of the last decade.
And you....get my drift! _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

It's surprising how many people ignore all those fancy buttons just above the text field. And it isn't the problem just on this board... _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

I ignore them, but that's only because it's quicker for me to type the HTML equivalent directly as I go. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator
