Just something I threw together for a mech/vehicle design competition. No fluff or anything, just the maching it self. let me know what you think, good or bad, and I can make changes if able.

I put the LB-X ammo into the LA.
It looks a bit ... mixed to me.

True, but with no range modifiers, I can pummel with the lbx and er ppc, then when close, I can alpha, drive up heat and use axe. Risky I know. not one of my usual designs. _________________ one by one the rabbits are stealing my sanity....

I really don't like the use of an XL engine--other than that, it looks good. Excellent firepower, decent mobility, good armor, good heat dissipation. Personnaly, I would drop the AMS and XL, change to Endo Steel IS, and work from that. But that's just me. It does work, however. Quite good.

Just an update on this design. was put through the paces ina design challenge at www.sarna.net against four other designs. Took down a dual guass toting assault ( at 100 tons, I think) and two other opponents for a total of three wins.

Donkey's un-named(this was the assaultmech) vs Carbine:
Short and brutal fight. The Carbine's armor was just barly thick enough for the run into close range but once there it was easy to keep behind the un-named and back shot it to death. FYI the Carbine survived a PPC shot to the head in the first round to claim the victory. Carbine wins.
Ishida vs Carbine:
While it took a few rounds for the Carbine to corner the ishida, once he did that was all she wrote. 2nd round of hatchet took the head clean off. Carbine wins.
Zyko vs Carbine:
While the Carbine took some damage, the Zyko just got murdered. Both mechs closed and the Carbine used its jumpjects to jump behind the Zyko when it finally won inititive and that was all she wrote. Carbine wins.
Seems the 50 tonner took the Carbine down in the end. Check out the contest post. You just have to weed through all the whiny crud to actually see the other designs and get an idea of what went down. I must admit, the use of the XL was risky, and it finally caught up with me in the end when the final mech scored against the torso engine crit locations. _________________ one by one the rabbits are stealing my sanity....
