note: this is for the campaign I'm doing.
If the party manages to make an extended series of key accomplishments, then the Blakist Jihad will fizzle in a surprising fashion.
Several planets will manage to resist takeover, and in the process will send a mighty "Up thine!" to the Blakists by blitzkreiging Terra and stealing it from right underneath the Blakists. This will result in the Jihad becoming a stalemate, as the Blakists will end up too shocked and battered to do anything other than regroup and solidify their hold on what they did take.

==Overview:==
The word "humiliating" does not even begin to describe the aftermath of the
Blakist loss of Terra. The Blakes were so intent upon taking over the Inner
Sphere that they neglected what was supposed to have been their crown jewel.
In the process, not only have they suffered themselves to endure burning
shame, they've also lost several key factories. That they've also hemhorraged
forces attempting to take certain planets which refused to fall has only made
their situation that much more precarious. To quote Phyrrus of Ephyrus, "One
more such victory and I am undone."
Whereas the Blakists have more than enough volunteers (willing and otherwise)
to fill their ranks, the loss of so much material and so many factories has
left them short in regards to available firepower. Hence, the expansion of the
vehicle plant on Sirius from producing simple utility and police vehicles to
producing such dated staples as the Pack Rat, 3R Stinger (a 3R in designator
only), and now this.
Directly based on the original 2H, the 2B has been refitted to factor in both
double heat sinks and the limited amount of weapons and hardware available at
the Sirius plant. In the mech's favor, the Blakists switched to double heat
sinks, added CASE, and maximized the jumping distance. Working against the
mech, however, is that Sirius does not produce medium lasers or LRMs. Instead,
a flamer had to be substituted for the medium laser and an SRM 6 for the 2 and
LRM 5. Owing to a little bit of remaining tonnage, a machine gun was added.
On one hand, the 2B can be a rather effective urban combat tool in the hands
of a skilled pilot. This may, in fact, have been what the Blakists were after.
On the other hand, its effective weapons range has been scaled back by such a
degree that the mech is of questionable tactical value outside of a city
environment. We doubt, however, that the Blakists really care at this point.

Never thought I would see a Shadow Hawk that does less damage then the canon one...
Like the fluff. Overall you have a nice militia mech or crowd control mech. _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

The purpose of the campaign you guys were running was, from the get-go, to blunt the Jihad's overall effect, thus helping to prevent the "Dark Age" campaign from ever existing.
For example, your actions on Caph gave the New Nauvoo government some breathing room so that they could finish a number of mech, vehicle, and aerospace fighter factories that they were building in secret. By the time the Jihad rolls around, these rather powerful machines will be in the hands of certain allied powers; the Blakists won't realize what they're up against until they start to hemorrhage soldiers against them. You've also given them the time needed to send out diplomats to different planets in order to raise the prospect of a new Terran Confederation; it'll be under the Terran Confederation banner that Terra will be liberated.
Likewise, I'm looking at the prospect of having the party take out Wayne Waco. If he goes down, then the Waco Rangers will ultimately disband. W/O the Waco Rangers, the Blakists will lose one of their key operatives; Outreach won't fall, meaning that the Blakists will be staring down a furious Jaime Wolfe.
And in a nod to my fiction here on Mordel's and something that was once being planned on CBT, the planets of Soliaris VII and Zion will also refuse to fall; S7 will actually turn out to be a massive meat grinder for the Blakists. Likewise, if certain other elements of the campaign fall into place, Northwind, the Duchy of Small, Errai, Carver V, Kentares IV, and a few others won't fall either. Not only will the Highlanders join the fight against the Blakists, these planets will all soon be major industrial centers and so will be pumping out equipment for use by the Confederation.
Once everything is said and done, the Blakists will be in a world of hurt. These simplistic machines (Pack Rat, modified 3R Stinger, 2B Shadow Hawk, modified 6R Wolverine) will be given to rear-echelon forces and local militias in "exchange" for said units being stripped of their newer, more advanced machines for the sake of the front-line forces and garrisons on key planets. These units will likely bear the brunt of the inevitable Confederation-led counter-attack, and so having the best mechs and tanks available would be rather important. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat."
