==Overview:==
Although a fairly popular mech in its day, the Sentinel suffered from an
assortment of problems. One of them was that the mech relied on speed to be
its armor. One or two good hits to any location and the mech was down; given
that the mech had unprotected ammo stores, this could put a pilot in danger of
life and limb. Another problem was that the unit had limited firepower; it
could do reasonably well against tanks and infantry, but many lighter mechs
such as the Commando and Panther, largely out-gunned it. On top of that, a
single small laser is, generally speaking, an inadequate back-up for two
ammo-dependent weapons.

Rather than let the mech disappear into obsolescence, a decision was made to
try and revive the unit. A RAC/2 was added in place of the UAC/5, giving it
greater firepower and more ammo per ton. Double heat sinks were put in place
to help deal with the heat, and the structure was switched over to Endo Steel
to help deal with the recoil. This gave the mech an extra two tons of weight,
which were used to beef it up defensively. CASE was added to both side torsos
in order to protect the mech in case of an armor breach. The small laser was
upgraded to a medium so as to allow for modest point defense. And a half-ton
of armor was added to the mech, giving it that much more protection. 

Time will tell if this is sufficient to make the mech relevant in the modern
age.

Nice redesign.

My suggestions: move the SSRM/2 and ammo to the LT. Drop RT CASE and add 0.5t more armor.

Possible further changes: change ML to ERML as you gave it DHS. Upgrade to 6.5t Ferro.

These changes still give it the firepower and survival upgrades you gave it but just a bit more. The further changes increase the cost by a small margin but give you added range and armor.

On average your version will do just a little less dmg then the UAC/5 version, but you get safety and protection. i do like it.

Not much of an upgrade at the first look, but better than that when you look closer. I have to disagree with Vagabonds suggestions (based on personal preferences). I'd rather keep the weapons separate and thus keep more weapons in case that side torso is destroyed.
