At a local bookstore near where I live, there was about 19 copies of a newly released book sitting on a shelf behind the cash register. A few years ago when I went back to where there used to be about four shelves of Classic BattleTech books, there wasn't any CBT products. In fact the only CBT product available for display was a copy of Total Warfare in the Roleplaying shelves area. Also, the bookstore owner got rid of her soda fountain drink dispensers. I purchased that TW copy and to get Tactical Operations, I had to order it. I think that the customer assistance could be improved at that bookstore, like having a computer that a customer could search for products using keywords like name and type and/or date of release.

I think it's difficult to get CBT books anywhere these days. I order mine directly through the BattleCorps store. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

They, TPTB, could change all of that if they would do some advertisements in magazines and other places that folks who are likely to play RPGs and tactical games are looking for info and other things. Really it would go a long way to reversing the slump in getting new players into the game. You know the whole idea of spending some money to make more down the road plan. _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

Tssss... local game stores just said that Battletech is dead and refuse to even work as mediators for purchase. I'm getting my books through Paizo Publishing along my Pathfinder books. It kinda sucks to buy books from the west coast of the States when you live in central Europe, but German providers are even worse. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

I've found a place called Game Cafe that I can purchase CBT products from. I have to pay using cash which isn't a problem (at Game Cafe they don't accept checks and a bank I go to is nearby).
