One of the scenarios in Fall of Terra took place at night, and so the writers mentioned which mechs in the scenarios should be considered as having searchlights.
That might get you started.

According to the rules any mech can have a searchlight mounted on it...I'm looking for a list of the ones that the canon says have a searchlight.

Of the Warhammer I'm sure, as I am of the Marshal (3060), Guillotine and from the artwork Hellbringer/Loki (3050), Devastator, Shootist and prehaps Partisan tank as well (3058).

There are people who post on this forum that know the specific manufacturer of items on every mech...it wouldn't be a stretch to think they'd know which ones have searchlights.

pretty much.
I know I never really bothered much with the dusk / night rules, and that's even with me saying a few missions happened at night.

Well, I offered a list... sort of. Aside from that the searchlight is an uncommon item. Most 'Mechs don't have them.
