I wanted to do a heavy combat VTOL with a large laser as the main weapon, so I started with an H7 Warrior and went from there.

The basic idea is that it can "prod" targets with the LRM 5s in order to fatigue them, then "pick their bones" with its lasers and SRM 2. The thick armor and the XL fusion engine mean that, since it has lasers as its primary armaments, it can hypothetically circle a target for an extended period of time just waiting for the killing blow.

Very nice, I was thinking instead of the SRM 2, maybe a SRM 6 (Streak). increase the crit hunt, But after doing the math. A 6 wouldn't fit.

I really like the long distance pelleting with the fast movement. Enough to really piss off most of the slow moving, in your face players that seem to dominate the takes now days.

I'd try to drop the XL engine. Some tonnage could be saved by using MMLs and droping SRMs and small lasers. MMLs in general could solve all your problems with keeping the long range firepower and boosting close range punch. Light PPC could also give you range advantage.
