==Overview:==
As with the Falcon and the Firefly, it would appear that the Wolf's Dragoons
have turned over one of their last - if not their last - functional Hoplite
mechs over to the Armed Forces of New Nauvoo (AFNN) for study and eventual
reverse-engineering.
And as with the other two designs, the AFNN and its technicians did not
disappoint.
Although the basic outline of the Hoplite is still intact, even a quick
glimpse at the design will reveal the fact that the machine has been altered
heavily. The first thing one notices is the jump jet exhaust ports in the
legs, indicating that the mech can now go airborne. Next, one would notice the
RAC/2 in the right arm. From there, the left arm has been increased in size to
handle a pair of lasers. More lasers are visible in the torso & head, and if
you squint closely you can see an RL 10.
But the real treasure of this new Hoplite is inside, courtesy of the mech's
targeting computer. This will allow any pilot to make the most of the new
arsenal at their fingertips, thereby turning the Hoplite into a highly-mobile
(for its size) and highly lethal fire-support platform.
