Hi! I have great news so I just feel like sharing it. I went to the NH Democratic Party COnvention today, cause I was a delegate from my home town and won two things: 1) I'm a delegate to the Hillsborough Country Dem Party for the next two years, and 2) I won the Milford NH nomination for NH State Senate run in 2004! I'm very excited and just wanted to share the good news. Wish me luck! Oh and if any of you live in milford and have political concerns that you are interested in having heard, give me an Email. If I'm not in your district or country I'll be able to figure out who is and talk to them or brow beat them into listening for a minute!

Raven, hoping to be a good representative!

Oh, no. Not another one.

Rant, rant, rant Rush Limbaugh! Ditto! rant, rant.

I am REPUBLICAN, baby!

Anybody remember how many DEM leaders were publicly saying "Thank God Gore didn't win" in the weeks after 9-11?

The Democratic Party, worst case of Alzheimers on the planet.

But seriously, congrats on your chance for office. I'll never vote for any Democrat for Federal office, sherrif, or a judge job. But for other state and local stuff I vote for more Democrats than Republicans.

Esp. since my next door neighbor is a DEM and a county commisioner since 94. There's a guy named David Bernson here (DEM) that I also vote for regularly. If he ever did run for Congress I could see breaking my rule and voting for him. Both of them are from the new pack of Democrats that swept a large number of local elections here in Texas back in 94. The year that saw our local long encumbent trio of Congressman, state senator, and state Rep. booted out all at once by other DEMs and Republicans who were sick of corruption and scandals. You should have seen the election night news, they didn't take losing to the upstarts very well.

I am a conservative. Both parties are ideologically conflicted and tied up by the special interests. I am beginning to despair of ever finding a president who "gets it".

Why do we need a Homeland security chief? What happened to the civil defense program?
What reall info have we gotten out of CD or Homeland security?

Where are the pamphlets about what to do when a bomb goes off? When a biological attack happens? What can be done to be prepared for these things? Maybe some of the fringe groups do have the right idea, build a compound in the hills, stock it with survivalist gear, and pull up the road after you.

Democrat in New Hampshire used to be a rare thing... Now you can't turn over a rock without one slithering by...

OK so I'm kidding.. But I'm not overly fond of alot of folks I see that actually make office at the State, or National level from the Democratic Party.

Then again, I can't imagine anyone even considering voting for Gore... bet he is kicking himself for inventing those punch card ballot machines...

Well, i'm a New Hampshire democrat. According to the national party thats like being a Republican in any other state. I don't know about that, but hey, they don't like us much anyway

My major issues are rolling back the government (getting rid of stupid extra jobs and shit like that, it just wastes time and my money), and solving the current education crisis rather then putting my hands over my ears and squeezing my eyes shut and hope it disappears. Frankly I'm very disappointed in the Republican leadership in the Statehouse and I'm planning on doing something about it.

Even if it requires that I become Governor!

Raven, Future Governor of New Hampshire!

The current crisis in education in New Hampshire started when Shaheen became Governor, and lost the case brought by the five small towns in the supreme court.

A case that both previous Republican Governors successfully passed, and that her legal council admitted their defense of their stance was less than structured or well presented.

So, that was her first term.. since then, she has run with education funding being the number one important issue to fix in New Hampshire. She has run what three more times on the same stance, and offered little or nothing in the debates as a possible solution. I think her main thrust is to let the legislature realize that with the surrent description of the problem, the only rational way is to bring coin to the statehouse.. in another words flush out a big tax increase.

It is laudable that you seek to lessen the sheer size of the Government.. That is not a position held by most Democrats (or Republicans for that matter) in office.
Somehow in the last century or so, the Republicans have come to be the party which leans towards helping you help yourself.. If you work hard, or want to work hard, you can do well.. The Democrats have become the party which helps you help yourself .... to other people's tax money.

Yahoo!

Great to hear for somebody taking the political dive. I'm all kinds of crazy mad for it, but we've had good enough local leadership that I've not gone after it myself, as of yet. Mind you, I've not been *old* enough for it for very long, but hey.

While at first glance, it'd seem as tho I was a 'Yellow Dog' Democrat (hah!), the truth is that I fall more in line with the older Dixiecrat stance ... we like the military, for example, and are happy to do the jail thing, but we're also trust-busting fiends and big on social liberties.

So, I'm a mixed bag of nuts.

Hearing a Dixiecrat get up and lambast unions always tends to bowl Republicans over.

That being said, I *do* want to get my tushy up in the White House around 2020 or so. Even have my first slogan ready ...

"Old Dog, the only canidate with 20-20 vision."

Funny, you see, because of my glasses.

Here's hopin' I can count on y'all to back a Battletecher to the Big Chair!
