And since i have never seen this discussed before i was curious as to what everyone else's thoughts were.
But what companies would have survived aside from the ones listed like Boeing. Who else would have survived. I think cases could be made for Microsoft, IBM, Costco, Walmart, and some others. _________________ Stinger If it's "creepy" to use the Internet, military satellites, and robot aircraft to find a house full of gorgeous young models so I can drop in on them unexpected, then FINE, I'm "creepy". Ford and Nissan are mentioned by name as still being engine manufacturers, and General Motors has apparently become General Mechanics.
I also recall at least one mech (I want to say the Raijin) was listed as being manufactured by Krupp Armaments.
I also recall a Star League-era laser rifle being manufactured by Mauser. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." Wolfwood to a random cat (Trigun)

I see several small arms devs being around. Dunno about the AK as I think that will get absorbed by say chinese interests, but HK, Mauser, and Colt are high possibilities in BT.
As for aircraft, I see Boeing, Sukhoi (but again merged with a chinese interest), Dassault Aviation, and Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug or Panavia Aircraft.
Its hard to say for ground combat vehicles because they don't carry the same glory as their small arm and aero cousins. I don't really see any of these really make a hold out to the SL era. Just too plain in comparison to mechs and aerofighters.
I think the aircraft companies will because aerofighters are difficult to produce. But conventionals will be unremarkable like tanks and be produced locally or imported from a neighbor. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

I can see most of the big car companies having survived. Obviously Ford, and GM have been mentioned. But Ferrari, Lamborghini, VW, Audi, and so fourth.
I am sure that the Porsche 911 still looks the same.
I wonder, do you think Disney survives? _________________ Stinger If it's "creepy" to use the Internet, military satellites, and robot aircraft to find a house full of gorgeous young models so I can drop in on them unexpected, then FINE, I'm "creepy". Howard Wolowitz. BBT.
