What the heck is a Kintaro? I know it is a clan medium size mech. But I cannot find it in any of my books or in HMPlus.
Any clues anybody?

Kintaro? Isn't that a medium IS mech found in either 3050 or 2750?

Yea. It is an Inner Sphere 2750 design with 3050 refits.
But the FM Warden Clans has it listed as a Steel Viper mech on the second line random table listing.
MacAttack on the Heavy Metal Pro board gave me the run down on it. And I found it when I set HMPlus to Inner Sphere instead of clan.

Yes...the original Star League version was 55 tons, moved 5/8 on a standard engine, had 10 DHSs, 179 pts ferro armor and was armed with 2 meds on the RA, a SRM-6 in the LT and a SRM-6 and LRM-5 in the LA (ammo was in the LT, IIRC, in CASE)...it also had a Narc in the CT...it was designed to get the Narcs on the field and make use of them...
The version that Comstar sold to Kurita in the War of 3039 (seen in the 3050 TRO) replaced the Narc beacon launcher with a LL...
The tech 1 version (seen in the revised 3025 TRO) replaced the Narc with another SRM-6, IIRC...

They've had it since the War of 3039...along with versions of many of the SLDF 'Mechs seen in the 2750 TRO...most missing some form of tech (ie, Katanas are Crocketts without DHSs, Sentinels without the streak-2 and a med laser replacing the small laser, Crabs with more basic electronics than the Comstar/SL version, etc.)
