Cordless mice are subject to signal interruption like any other device. Most of the cordless desktop stuff I've seen is infrared, and has a range of about 5 feet. They also eat batteries. I use an MS ergo mouse left handed with right hand mouse button configuration. Nobody ever borrows my PC when I'm not at my desk.

I do not like standard ball mice. I, at one time, had a Logitech trackball mouse that had the ball under my thumb. That was a really nice mouse. It did not even need to move, which made me happy.

Ugh....the damn thing is failing on me again. I updated the drivers like Gateway tech support said, then it was ok for 24 hours of continious use. Now, while I'm playing SOFII, it just stops entirely on me. I exit to windows, and the little arrow is still there but it's not moving or responding to clicks. I just updated my virus definitions and I'm running the scan now, I think a virus is what's causing it.
I'm buying a corded optical mouse first chance I get.
