The Wolverine & Griffin plant on Marduk was captured in the War of '39 like the plant on Quentin that produces Victors, Atlases, etc. It is worth noting, however, that the plant on Quentin traded hands regularly.

Back on topic: one Davion design that hasn't been mentioned yet is the Davion variant of the Warhammer - a perennial favorite. That one alone gives Davion what is undoubtedly one of the best 3025 heavy 'Mechs.

I agree. However, you do see a fair number of Griffins throughout Kuritan line regiments. Playing a True-to-House campaign with players fielding House mechs adds an interesting twist to the game.

That should be a very interesting game/tournament, and so many possibilities.

Another Mech yet unmentioned is the Dervish, which the TRO 3025 notes lists the Davion version as it is the most common in the IS at that point.

I always wondered what the original Star League version was like.

it probably looked a lot like the present version. Most of the Star League 'mechs were not really bursting with level two technology. Even most of the 2750 'mechs (which were the cutting edge stuff when the Star League fell...I don't even think they were distributed to every division in the SLDF) do not carry as much level two technology as some of the 3050 or 3055 'mechs. The Houses were kept in check through artificial limits on the size of their militaries.

The DV-6M Dervish was commissioned in the last days of the Star League. It's only change was replacing the 270 GM engine with the present-day (3025 TRO) 275 Core Tek to boost its maneuverability.

That's a fine Warhammer; it can even hold its own against omnimechs.

They do have a nice mix of mediums; they have their own variant of the Shadowhawk and the Wolverine, as well as a good Trebuchet and Hermes.

I hope to write you to history soon Clanner

Anyway, now I have the time to enjoy the Battletech Universe I try to get my hands on anything BT. My wife is not too happy about it but she doesn't have anything to complain to me. I give her her due time, so in my OWN free time I enjoy reading BT specially TRO, Source books and the stuff you find going through the internet.

All trash talk aside (which is part of the fun)...win or loose, and am not trying to get mushy or sentimental finding this site was a excellent. Like I said when I introduced myself, BT is non-existent here in Panama and I really don't know how I missed this site in the internet before.

Now I hope to PLAY BT, for which I am looking forward for that little scenario Chihawk is planning for us.

Would love to to play person-to-person, maybe when I am on business travel in the states? I do get to travel to Miami and Houston from time to time.

There is always MegaMek which only lacks the pleasure of seeing your foe's face when you plaster him with 40 LRMs.
