I remember first coming to coming Mordel's back in the fall of '98, whne I first met Ruger, and the Crimson Janassaries were still kicking ass all over the Inner Sphere, even if they did start out as a small merc unit who took in and mentored a certain Lance Sgt with an Exterminator.
Anyway, I've been here since then, posting regularly for spurts then getting caught up with life/school and/or work. But rest Assured I am always here reading, even if I'm not posting. THis board has been through a lot, changs, shut down, lawsuites, strife, going off line for various reasons, but everyone has always managed to find each other again even on temp boards like Ravenheart's Fortress. THe word always got out, and when the wrod cwas sent that Mordel's was back open wwe all made it back here and the guys who ran the temp boards, came too with no hard feelings for leaving their new place. I think the big difference between this board and most others is that is is much more laid back, and that there is a real sense of history behind it, so it really feels like a community or second home/HQ.
As for me, I regret that since reporting to my 1st Sea Command back in January of this year, work just takes up way too much of my time now (but thankfully I've switched billets now, so I get home a much earlier now). And sadly, having found a group of players who play BTech regularky here in the Virginia Beach Area, I find that I am not able to play as much as I'd like due to my underway schedule as we near our Deployment early next year. But if I think there is enough interest I'll put my work email in my profile, so that people can get a hold of me on the ship while I'm deployed, so that I don't loose touch.
My heartfelt thanks to Mordel and even who have made/make coming here a real pleasure.

Wow. I feel old now too. I remember all of that, (even though I normally live in an alcoholic haze!) I started coming back in the green / grey days, and I've hung out ever since... even if I don't post that often. I guess real life gets in the way of my fantasy world.

NOW I feel old..... Cuz that was AFTER my time....Battledroids and all..... guess thats what I get for playing lo unto 30 bloody years.....
But I suppose it could be worse... But I just don't see how......

Cuz that was AFTER my time....Started right after I read 'Sword and the dagger'(if anyone remembers that old book...) long before the clan war, long before the 4th war, back in the days of the third war...when the 3025 was NEW!..... guess thats what I get for playing lo unto 30 bloody years.....
But I suppose it could be worse... But I just don't see how......

Young'in, hmmm.... I think I hear a goat in need of some personal PSI. Just becouse you are old enough to be Plato's great grandfather, doesn't mean that ya'll can pick on all the kiddies around here. So before you have to grab your oxygen and wheel your chair over to the keyboard( bet you own an Eniac ) I know all about age and treachery beating youth and inexperiance.( Use it ALL of the time ) But you can throw your false teeth at the G.E.D. hopefuls that show up but leave the mature and refined alone. I really would hate having to help you wind up that rubberband in your Mackie ( or feed your hamsters...) just to prove my point......

whoa... now that REALLY makes me feel young... the earliest thing I remember of Btech is Mechwarrior 2, and even then it was ever so slightly before my time....

Yeah. I remember the green board and the Queen music, and then the Great Hiatus when the m word took us on at Ravenheart's Fortress, and a lot of other things! Of course, it was this board, when I was just a ghost, that got me to actually go out and buy more then just the box set.
