I need to ask this because perhaps I don't understand...
Why does what the figures look like for a game that isn't the game we like play matter?

It matters because when the time comes IF it ever comes that the players of MWDA want to try BATTLETECH, then they will have to learn the mechs all over again...along with the rules of Battletech...
And seeing how MWDA is the final point of the story line, unless we get really lucky and WK/FP actually listen to the fans and let things spin off differently, and thus if you want to keep on par and current you have these new er...um...mechs to play with...
But you are correct, it doesn't matter since it's NOT Battletech...just like the CCG isn't Battletech and the computer games AREN'T Battletech.

Ummm, so? I don't see it as being an issue. The 2 are different games using vastly different game mechanics...why would the pieces look the same?

By the time Classic 'tech catches up to the MWDA timeline I'm betting MWDA will be long dead and we won't have to worry about it.
And as many have said before, if TPTB put out stuff I don't like I just ignore it. I've got plenty of B'tech stuff to play forever without ever buying another thing again

That's not a diet- that's a liposuction, tummy tuck, facelift, you name it.

i hope to god DA survives.
not for the fact that i like it.
but because Wizkids owns the btech licence.
but what i hope for more than that, is that FanPro brings home more $$$ than DA.
that way WizKids, who are all about the money, will see the light.
because the end point for the TRUE btech timeline is DA. There needs to be a spin-off to keep btech fresh.
Also, if not.
there will be no more TRO's
and that is bad.

Don't worry Culverin. My plan is simple
1) Win the lottery
2) Spend significant amounts of time on a tropical island with topless island girls.
3) Buy a mercenary army and become the dictator of some poor hopeless banana republic
4) When WhizKids determines that BattleTech is no longer a hot property, buy the game outright.
5) Reintroduce the Unseen in my country. Copyright laws will only apply when I want them too, and they won't in this case.
6) Make the changes to the game I demand including the horrible pointless deaths of certain character and personas of real people.
Well 7-84 generally involve me, and things that are best left unsaid. Needless to say I am grinning thinking about them and thus, they are illegal.

You know, I was having largely the same thoughts! Now, how scary is that for me?
