We gave them hell but could not take them. Pretty fair game and the USA had chances. Set plays killed us this entire tournement. Only one bitch, how come it seemed our little guys were able to knock over the big Germans so easily. O I know, we have not been to enough acting school. But solid game that was exiting. I do know a lot of Germans spewed beer when that ball almost went across the line. Well all I can say is
USA USA USA USA in 2006.

*nods head* Well, the old alarm clock crapped out on me this morning and I just woke up. I hope it was a well-played game, and I guess I'll just hop on the bandwagon: USA in 2006! _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.

I saw most of it. The Germans made that one score in the first half, and then spent the entire second half primarily playing *defensive.* If it hadn't been for that ball accidently smakcing that German player's arm, it'd have been tied and into sudden death. From there, who knows?

I saw that and couldn't believe that bad luck.
One of the tennents of soccer...."ball to hand is good, hand to ball is bad". Great run that may have continued if the ball was 6" further toward the center of the goal...

Yup, the Germans sure had a bit of luck in keeping their lead. The US had several fine chances to even the score, but no! Once you start hitting side nets and posts you rarely stop it, be the game football or icehockey.

Hey guys, I bow to ALL of you. I was actually scared turning up today after the week-end.
My bro and I watched the game, and it was like dying 1000 deaths. By the end we were cursing at OUR team. We were ashamed. Embarrassed. It should've been a tie, gone into sudden death. A lot of Germans went around celebrating, but we were shaking our heads. Sometimes the means to attain a goal DO count.
The German team isn't all that good. In two fields we lead the world: Our goalie (no offense Vampire, but Kahn has no rivals) and our strength in headers. But apart from that? Our last game against the US was won trhough luck, and luck only. If we don't pick up the pieces, Korea won't even have to rely on the referee to win.......
And Vampire, my condolances. Honestly. I was kinda rooting for Korea at one stage (for reasons previously discussed) but that was no way to go. Italy may have deserved it, but Spain definitely didn't. And it WOULD have been the better semi-final, Germany squaring off against Spain.
Again, hats off to all you gentlemen! _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior
