Time for another updates. I've fixed the few bugs I know about and have added some additional design features to BattleMech creation. The below lists these changes in more detail:
Defects
- Fixed an issue where Improved Jump Jets were getting split between locations. IJJs are a two-crit item and cannot be split between locations. You will now be prompted with a message if you try to place an IJJ in a location where you do not have enough contiguous critical slots.
- Fixed an issue where edited designs were appearing as new. Versions of designs edited by users will now be flagged as updated.
- Fixed an issue where I could submit a canon design with the same name multiple times. I will now receive an error if I try to do this as canon designs must be unique.
- Fixed an issue where auto-distribute was not properly distributing all possible equipment. It would make one pass through the critical locations and stop, thus leaving several things unallocated. It will now loop as many times as needed until all possible equipment is allocated.
- Fixed an issue with the display of compact heat sinks. Previously they were showing up as (x0) for the quantity in a slot, when they should have been showing up as either (x1) or (x2). It's been fixed so the proper number in a slot is displayed.
- Fixed an issue where the built-in spellchecker was not working. This was due to an incorrect path reference that was introduced during the server move. It's now been rectified and spellchecker works as before.
Design Changes
- Updated the code to account for several performance improvement recommendations such as expiry headers, compression, etc. As a result, you should notice slight increases in page-load times under normal conditions.
Enhancements
- A new option has been added to the distribution screen that allows you to Undistribute all equipment. Previously you had to click each piece of equipment seperately to unallocate everything, which was very time-consuming. Now, by clicking the red Unallocate icon, this operation is done in one action.
- The ability to design units which contain patchwork armor has been added. Patchwork armor allows you, the designer, to build a unit which utilizes different armor types based on location. While patchwork armor is not prevalent on a lot of canon designs, it can be valuable for your units when designing for use in campaigns or other scenarios.
