Another "small" update to the site code has been pushed out today. You'll note there's nothing one would consider major in there, save for possibly the one design change. The below lists these changes in more detail:
Defects
Fixed an issue where a top "grouping" image was shown when a single critical for a piece of equipment split across multiple locations was present. An example of this was the Loki (Hellbringer) G and the iHG located in the center torso.
Enhancements
Updated the filtering code such that the default filter options are no longer saved in the URL when used. For example, when viewing the default BattleMech View/Search page, the URL is simply http://www.mordel.net/tro.php?a=v. You'll notice it no longer has the messy filter info at the end. The filter information will only be added when changed from the defaults or additional filter info is applied. This seems minor, but it will help to clean up the URLs for filters and make them a little bit shorter.
Updated the alerts and confirmation prompts you receive when performing various actions with Site Messaging to utilize the newer dialog prompts implemented in other areas of the site. This replaces the generic built-in browser functionality (yawn).
I changed the default Rules Approach when designing new units to be 'Era Specific'. What this means is that the equipment that now shows up for a given unit will be any that are available within the given era selected. The main driver behind this was the rule level printed on record sheets was based on era, so this now matches that. It also has an added benefit of making a wider subset of equipment available when designing without having to play with the various options.
Design Changes
This last one could really have been tagged as an enhancement, or even a bug. Some time back I made one of the worst design decisions one can make, and removed all the link HTML tags and replaced them all with clickable div tags. Seemed like a great idea at the time. Well, this had the negative side-effect of users not being able to treat them like actual links by removing built-in browser functionality that typically existed for links. This included such things as right-clicking the link and selecting 'Open link in new tab'. I had slowly been reverting as I made various changes. This ultimately was taking too long, so I bit the proverbial bullet and update the roughly 350 remaining divs to links. Enjoy...
