Okay to you, what marks the three biggest events in the BT history?
My three are:
The Founding of the Terran Hegmongy
SLDF Exodus
Fed-Com Civil War
To me each of these shows a turning point in the balance of power in the Inner Sphere and Periphery.

1 Founding of the Star League - because it was the basis for all that followed
2 Amaris Coup - because it killed the SL which resulted in the Exodus and the founding of the Clans
3 Foundation of the Federated Commonwealth - because it formed the basis for the atmosphere of peace and cooperation in the IS that was later reinforced by the coming of the Clans (which would be 4th on my list)

Umm founding, and the destruction of the Star League... I'd tie the two together because it all happened before our time line..
The invasion of the Clans ... This brought a huge influx of material and technology, as well as changed the face of the Inner Sphere perhaps forever..
The third one is tough.. Maybe the time Mordel beat me in a Battletech game... oh.. That one hasn't happened yet Actually, my choice for third is going to have to be whatever manages to destroy the armies of the great houses in a 65 yearish type window. I cannot imagine what cataclysm will be able to do this, but whatever it will be will have to be bigger and much worse than any of the events so far in the time line.

Collapse of the 1st Star League.
Clan invasion.
Clan defeat at Strana Mechty.
To me those three events show the greatest shift in power for the Sphere.

3 Major Events in my opinion:
-4th Succession War: Due to the enormous number of worlds that changed hands as compared to the 3 previous wars combined.
-The Clan Invasion: the effect that it created on a number of levels, including political and technological.
-The Destruction of Clan Smoke Jaguar: As much as this subject pains me (hehe), it forced the Clans to rethink many of their foundations and reconsider the Inner Sphere in a new way.

Clan invasion. The Clans showed up.
The Civil War. The end of the BattleTech universe.
