Remember when they came out with BT Reinforcements...a bunch of card stock counters of every mech in TRO3025. And then Reinforcements 2, which had the clan stuff from TRO3050 (and reprints of the 3025 mechs...booooo!) as well as a few of the new mechs.
Why no Reinforcements 3 with the 3055, 3058, 3060, and 3067 mechs? Unseen not withstanding?

All of my questions are good questions, sir.
I'll tell you like my mother told me: "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people."

I've heard something similar..."there are no stupid question, just stupid people that ask questions"

It seems that after Reinforcements 2, they switched to booklet form for the sheets rather than a box set. Probably to save money there, and most importantly to promote the miniature line.
I was disapointed that Wizkids/FanPro didn't go after plastic minis for CBT rather than metal. It would have been alot cheaper for us the consumer.
I suppose someone must have scanned the mech art from the TRO. If you could get ahold of those pics you could scale them down, print, glue on cardstock......voila!

Sounds like my Jr. High science teacher. People were always caught off guard when they said "I have a question," because her response was always "I probably have an answer." And if you said you had a stupid question, she would (of course) say. "There are no stupid question, just stupid people that ask questions."
Then again, if you were five foot tall and teaching a room full of 5 1/2+ foot tall Jr. High kids, you would need a sense of humor too.

I think they want people to buy the minis. And with a dedicated but small fanbase producing a Reinforcements 3 might not be economical.

The tooling costs for plastic minis are supposedly much higher. They are only financially worthwhile for major production runs. That would mean that far fewer 'Mechs would be available as minis. (But, yeah, another box set with pastic minis would have been great.)

Really? I had no Idea. It seemed that with the high cost of ralladium over the now banned lead, I thought more companies would follow the trend of Citadel and Wizkids and opt for the plastic.

...and how much would it have cost to put a bunch of cardboard counters and stands in a box?
I mean if we got 2 of each counter we're still not talking about tons here.

I personally like the carboard counters, they are a whole lot less likely to break than plastic or metal and are far by far cheaper.

Well I still go for the pewter, which is the main metal used to make them. I would rather have something that is really nice looking but may break over the plastic which is really crappy and knocks over way too easily.

Paper can still be pretty expensive if it is not sold in mass quantities. If you tried to reproduce Reinforcements 2 at Kinkos you'll be spending a lot more than $30. I just don't think classic Btech has enough following to make this a profitable venture for Fan Pro.

first off... i believe that it is less expensive to make molds for the pewter...
so they can have many different minis instead of everybody fielding the same 20 machines over and over and over again (like the Games Workshop stuff)
also...
many people complained about using plastic when wizkids came out with the click tech design...
i think they decided that the rebirth of Classic they can bring in enough people to keep the current lines and stuff...
