Overview:
Wanted to see exactly how fearsome a QuadVee could be, Clan Hell?s Horses scientists
implemented studies that would result in a 100 ton monster named the Euros. Although not
very fast in either ?Mech or tank mode, this machine can bring pain and misery to those it
faces.
Capabilities:
Trying for maximum payload and maximum armor, the Euros is, at best, only average for its
size in speed, clocking in at a maximum 54 mph at a run/flank movement. However, this small
engine and the endo-composite frame of the design result in an Omni design with 34 tons of
Pod space; far more than any previous QuadVee. The main problem is the limited space for
this payload. Each machine has also been equipped with an advanced combat computer, but
these components tend to be hard to maintain.
Knowing this issue, the primary configuration mounts a centerline extended range PPC,
supported by Gauss rifles on either side. These hard hitting weapons are each equipped with
two tons of ammunition, allowing the machine to hang in for extended battles.
Alternate configuration A has been geared for more versatile combat with two Extended Range
Large Lasers and two LRM-15 racks fed by two tons of ammunition each providing long range
capability, while closer targets can be assaulted by 6 medium pulse lasers and a single
short range Streak missile four pack with one ton of ammunition.
Alternate configuration B mounts a HAG/30 on one side fed by four tons of ammunition mounted
opposite with a pair of large pulse lasers. To provide more long range firepower, an
extended range large laser is centrally mounted along with an ECM suite.
Other configurations are expected in coming months, but these are all that have this far
been confirmed.
Information Update: Since the last report, two additional configurations of this OmniMech
have been reported fielded by Clan Hell?s Horses.
Alternate configuration Gamma is reported to mount a mix of large energy weapons; combining
a pair of extended range PPC?s with a trio of Large Pulse Lasers. This configuration would
have difficulty venting all the waste heat from a full-on alpha strike from these weapons,
so it is likely they are meant to be bracket fired.
Alternate configuration Delta is said to mount enough jump jets to allow the design to leap
upwards of 90 meters, while also carrying a Type 20 Ultra autocannon and three Extended
Range Large Lasers.
Deployment:
Expensive to build, but effective in battle, the Euros is slowly been provided to assault
units.
