Overview:
Used for city garrison and defense, the UrbanMech is a common sight throughout the Inner
Sphere. Over the years some companies tried to upgrade it and so did Omaron BattleMechs on
Abagnar.
The DCMS looked for a cheap way to modify existing UrbanMechs for use in circumstances where
proper supply would be a problem. OBM's answer was an all energy weapon variant.
Capabilities:
OBM chose a laser weapon loadout that enabled the Urbanmech to deliver more average
firepower without any problems like ammo shortage or explosion.
The "one-two punch" enabled the Mech to keep up constant pressure. In a pinch even two
large laser salvoes in a row didn't get it very high on the heat scale.
Deployment:
OBM has converted three companies worth of Urbanmechs for the DCMS from 3025 on.
These were distributed to remote locations that were difficult to be supplied.
Variants:
A projected PPC-Variant was dropped because of the minimum range of that weapon.
