Hi y’all, I had purchased a new copy of Interstellar Operations about a year ago (I think) , and I thought This book sure is sort of heavy for a BattleTech book, and if it fell on a person’s foot of especially a young child, then it could break it. , and then I started reading it, and it seemed kind of difficult to read unlike other BattleTech books. And later I noticed that some of the sections of that book seemed sort of repetitively printed of how sometimes this or that item’s rules are on previous page(s) or sometimes how that or this item section’s name was also printed in its rules section, and how that the Strategic BattleForce and other following main sections weren’t compatible with Total Warfare rules. So, I decided to take a look at IO Table of Contents, and I noticed the two columns of print that had apparent superfluously repetitive words such as RISC or others, and I noticed the rules for LAMs and read them, and then I read the remaining rules that are printed before page 230. I also looked in the Table of Contents and Index for page number of Dual Cockpit rules, but I couldn’t find any, despite some units described in IO rules as having Dual Cockpits or multipersonnel cockpits, and that combined with how there are rules for super weapons (WMDs as they’re worded in IO) printed in IO of which those WMDs have no BV formulas (that means a terrifying limitless supply of them) . Today, the pages, of my copy of IO book, are getting detached from the glue of hoardcover because of their weight. Therefore, I have the following ideas to greatly improve IO book:

1, have IO be two disconnectable books so that the introduction, alternate eras, and all the IO rules (that are compatible with Total Warfare rules) that are printed before IO page 230 (except for superweapons WMDs rules, they can be published in a separate booklet) and short stories (that are pertinent to those aforementioned parts of IO) are published with the included publishments of Dual Cockpit rules with other rules for multicrewed units such as Maximum Tech rule for additional crew that negate their unit’s’ attacker movement modifiers and include more improved rules for LAMs and maybe some rules players recommend to be published in this new revised IO book, and so that the remaining IO rules are published as another IO book titled something maybe like Abstract Interstellar Operations, and rules for WMDs can be published (perhaps) in a new booklet called BattleTech Very Extremisms;

2, use the left margins of left pages more for printing to save ink and time and paper so IO books mass and weigh less;

3, redesign pages 8 and 9 so that the picture on page 8 is on page 9 and so that the page 9 part about IO and so at least part of that page 9 part about Choose What You Like are both on page 8 (for improved organization) ;

4, edit Table of Contents so that it is less wordy especially less repetitively wordy (for example we don’t need to read RISC eight times in RISC section of Table of Contents) and so that fewer space is used such as:
Code:

Advanced Rules: Tactical Operations, Strategic Operations, Interstellar Operations    8

or

About: Tactical Operations, Strategic Operations, & Interstellar Operations     8

; 5, clarify these new Interstellar Operations books as each is either an Advanced Rulebook or an Experimental Rulebook or an Experimentally Advanced Rulebook;

6, some pictures that show what some of the weapons and equipment look like and how they function.

What do you each recommend to improve IO? Have a good day.
