Overview:
The E4, B5, and B6 configurations are an odd group. Designed concurrently their goal was to
fit the broadside (just one, not both) of a dropship into a Company of Drudges. They
collectively pull it off rather well, until the Foot Shock Assault Dropship starts laughing
in Arrow IV from its nose batteries.
Now as to how effective the new configurations turned out to be? Middling. Which is
partially a problem of what they're being compared to. A "cheap" assault omni-mech is not
going to be able to match up against a top of the line Clan Omni-mech. There are even some
heavy mechs that can put out similar throw weights of dakka, albeit in not quite as sturdy a
chassis. Its hard to feel that you're doing well when you compare such designs on paper.
Its only when you remember that you're likely to outnumber your opponents that you regain
your confidence.
Capabilities:
The E4 (Snub/Xpulse) configuration carries a collection of weapons that hit decently hard at
medium ranges, and tend to have good secondary effects against specialty targets. Except
the Snub Nosed PPC. That just hits hard out to a good range. The Xpulse laser also hits
reasonably hard out to a good range, and can help deal with fast units that try to get in
close to good effect. The Plasma Rifle does similar damage to the other weapons, but is
especially devastating vs vehicular units. And finally the Silver Bullet Gauss rifle. Does
similar damage, but in a hail that seeks holes left by the other weapon systems. It also
helps keep aerospace assets honest. A single jump jet once again does almost nothing
tactically, but does allow the Drudge to hot drop with front line forces.
