Overview:
The problem with C3 networks is the adverse ratio of slave designs, variants, and
configurations to units that carry a C3 Master. The reason for this is fairly simple. You
just need to find a single ton to add a slave. Given the prevalence of such rare objects as
medium lasers, or heat sinks, or ammo, or possibly even armor; its not hard to do. Finding
5 tons on the other hand is more of a dedicated endeavor that requires a bit more thought.
Capabilities:
The Q1 (C3 master) configuration is less fancy then most. It connects the network while
hanging back at medium-long range providing direct fire support. A pair of PPCs support a
guass rifle. Angel ECM hardens the network against interference. Mobility is enhanced with
a set of jumpjets. This allows the Drudge to keep up in more mobile situations or dance
around if it needs to reposition quickly due to minimum range concerns.
Overall the cost of the C3 Master to performance is an assault mech that has firepower that
seems more appropriate for a heavy mech. Which isn't too terrible when the heavier armor
and extra mobility are included as well. Especially when the Asymptote has been described
as having the firepower of a light mech and yet is still the primary front line unit.
