================================================================================================
Overview:
A limited run prototype of an Inner Sphere reproduction of the Smoke Jaguar Stone Rhino
(Behemoth) designed the Wolf's Dragoons and built by the Blackwell Heavy Industries on
Outreach.
Capabilities:
To replicate the weapons load of twin Large Pulse Lasers, twin Gauss Rifles, and a Small
Pulse Laser, the Dragoons out fitted the Granite Leviathan with twin ExoStar Large X-Pulse
Lasers from the Federated Suns, twin Magna Hellfire Heavy PPCs w/ PPC Capacitors, and a
Magna 200P Small Pulse Laser for token anti-infantry capability.
To fit the heavier Inner Sphere equipment, the Dragoons utilized a GM 300 Light Fusion
engine to save weight while preserving durability as well as the costume built Star League
Monster IIa Endo-Composite internal structure for additional weight savings for low bulk;
Blackwell made modifications to the legs of the design utilizing their experience with the
Marauder II to improve performance but at the expense of less protected actuators. Three
Chilton 850 Mk. II super-heavy jump jets preserve the unit's mobility while 18 tons of
Valiant Lamellor standard armor plating provides protection. Given the massive change in
the heat generation of the main guns, an addition 7 tons of double heat sinks is installed;
furthermore, the Dragoons installed a Federated Sun Reclaimed Coolant Flush Injector to
further assist in heat control.
Blackwell Heavy Industries in an effort to minimize costs and accelerate development used as
many components as they could in common with the Marauder II or sourced items from on-planet
production plants. Only the pulse lasers are sourced from an outside manufacture on
Robinson.
Deployment:
Only a half-dozen of these machines have thus far been built for test trials. Once this
review process is complete and any necessary modifications have been made, Blackwell Heavy
Industries plans to begin limited ongoing production.
Variants:
Quirks: Barrel Fist (LA) (RA), Command BattleMech, Oversized, Weak Head Armor (1), and EM
Interference (1).
Prototype Quirks: Prototype, Difficult to Maintain, and Poor Cooling Jacket (HPPC) (LT)
(RT).

Seems way too hot, even with the radical heat sink system.
Plus, you just translate the base Stone Rhino to Inner Sphere tech. May take an XL, but can be done, although I prefer to use re-engineered large lasers instead of large x-pulse lasers.
Reference my version, also now posted.

Oh yes, it is a hot boy. Heat management is a must.
I don't care for the Re-Lasers; however, the Re-LL does seem patently superior to XLPL if you can afford the extra ton. Infact, it is so superior that unless you absolutely need the -2 to-hit that their is no reason to find the tonnage. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.
