I got this idea after looking at Neveron's Gecko Scout Tank and looking back over the Swift Wind. This thing is nice and cheap.

==Overview:==
The Chameleon is a relatively new scout tank dating from 3021, able to carry two scouts into the field the Chameleon moves ahead of the advance or behind the rear-guard keeping tabs on the enemy communications. With more than a ton of sophisticated Comstar sensor and comm. equipment, few forces are safe from the Chameleon. Able to crack codes and monitor several frequencies, the Chameleon is also a popular infantry command vehicle.
Utilizing a micro satellite dish on the roof, the low profiled Chameleon can hack into spy sats, comm. sats and even Dropship communications. Coupled with this is the ability to send signals to Jumpships anywhere within system (though there is a significant lag time involved). Although of limited use in battle, the Chameleon plays a major role behind the scenes (and behind the lines).
==Capabilities:==
Utilizing a 60 rated I.C.E. engine the Chameleon is able to challenge even the vaunted Locust in an open field. With four wheel independent suspension and heavy-duty tires and shocks, very little can completely stop a Chameleon. Mounted on the front of the Chameleon is a semi-portable machine gun, controlled by the driver. Though of little use against 'Mechs and aircraft, the gun is deadly to infantry and a threat to tanks. The gun is also removable, in case the crew should find it necessary to abandon the vehicle.
Behind the armored driver's compartment and heavy machine gun is a small area where food and other supplies are stored. These supplies help keep the scouts in the field longer than many other scout cars, which do not carry supplies. Just behind this area is the small comm. area, where one scout is almost always monitoring the sensors and communication channels. This is the reason the Chameleon is so rarely caught; though the scout carries no stealth equipment, the crew will know ahead of time if enemy forces are ordered into their area.
==Variants:==
Some Chameleons simply carry small amounts of cargo. Many also use different weaponry, engines or chassis.
==Deployment==
Chameleons are deployed around the Sphere, though Comstar fields the most, as they were they designed the vehicle. However, Comstar has recently allowed the design to be licensed out to many House manufacturers, albeit with lowering technology. Indeed, this report is based on the Federated Suns version of the scout.
