A reminder of posting rule 12:
MW:DA is a touchy, sometimes volatile subject at this time. Because of this, any conversations revolving around MW:DA shall only be about strategy or game play. Any posts attacking it will be deleted.
This rule will be strictly enforced should this topic begin heading in directions that serve no useful purpose.

MWDA is a dead end and IMHO is not the game I will be playing ever.

I tried playing, but it was money intensive and I didn't really enjoy it. *shrug* It's not a BAD game...its just not one I thought was all that great. But I never went all that crazy over clicky tech anyhow.

I will wind up playing some games against my brother and my nephew, but I am not sinking a dime into the game, nor any real time into learning how to play. It really just doesn't appeal to me.
I do think it will bring players into the Classic BTech fold a la the Mechwarrior Computer games have.Which is a good thing.

has the same inlaid problems that classic bt has, player avalibility.
i only know 2 ppl who will play, one whom has his own peices. so again, not enough players to ever get a regular game going.

I play....I like it though I definatly think the game engine could use a few refinements. I still prefer classic, but I absolutely love the game speed of MW DA

gaming place up in nashua, nh seems to have regular tournaments going for mw:da. Usually about a dozen or so people playing it. And whenever a new batch of stuff come in, this horde of people and/or kids come in and start tearing the boxes apart. Or at least did anyways. I haven't been back up there in a few weeks. I've bought 1 booster pack simply for the heck of it and ended up with a unique. Figures are slightly interesting, but I can't say i'll ever bother to actually buy any more. Rather quit while I'm ahead. And i also doubt that i'll ever bother to even actually play the game as well. Though I am rather interested in seeing what sort of stats the units will have when they decide to convert them to Classic btech.

You don't happen to have a Dagger Di or a Magpie Webster you'd be interested in trading off, do you?

I've been playing MageKnight as a side-thing since it came out, and have a big collection.
When MW:DA came out, I ended up getting a good 20 boosters (15 of them a friend paid for, in return for getting my Warhammer Orc army....which he'd had for more than 3 years, anyway). We then played for all of about, well 3 weeks.
Bottomline is: As a Sci-Fi game I prefer Classic BT a million-fold. As a clicky-game I prefer Mage Knight MUCH more (more variety, the rules are actually more refined, despite there being less, it is better supporter, world-wide). And Warhammer is still the better table-top game.....
So yeah, I don't play (anymore). I actually left my stuff in Australia (this was during my holiday there). If you need a Catapult, or a Firestarter, or a Ryoken, tell me. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

I would be interested in the Catapult and/or Ryoken.

More a question than a reply...
I just went to a weekend Con, and saw MW:DA for the first time. Observations (as a neutral, detached, third party )
The vehicles that I saw looked really nice. I also noticed that every game that I saw contained vehicles. While I use many vehicles in my own BT campaign, vehicles generally seem to be underrepresented in classic BT.
The mechs that I saw looked... well... unimpressive. Kinda clunky looking. Also I noticed that each scenario that I saw had only one mech in it.
Is this a general trend with MW-DA (More vehicles, fewer mechs), or did I just see a bunch of unusual games at this Con?

Possible answers, each is just as likely depending on the person:
1) Battles are built on Points, so 'Mechs take a lot more than a vehicle.
2) Vehicles seem equal to 'Mechs in a lot of ways in MW:DA.
3) You get two vehicles and one 'Mech (plus a handful of infantry) in every booster, therefore you'll most likely have many more vehicles to choose from.
