Just exactl how big is it gonna be? In fact how many hexes do most dropships take up? In the gams I've played, we always kinda drew a line and said if you got past it, you made it onto the dropship.

In "Dropships & Jumpships" Union's take up a mega-hex (7), while Leopard's take up only two. This one looks much bigget than that though.

It's most likely made for minature gaming...ie, those that play on terrain and such...therefore I would think it would be to the scale of the 'Mechs, rather than the map...
But I don't know that for sure...

I agree, by the looks of the pic with the mechs next to it, it seems much to big to use with hexes. Unless perhaps you're using solaris dueling rules.

I would agree in that it's probably more for miniatures gaming. As well as for those that just have always wanted to have an actual Dropship. 
I also think it's another fantech item. I remember seeing something about this before. As well as pictures of it.

looks really cool. but i remember once on ebay i found 1 of 2 prototype lepoard dropships made by ralpatha, or so the auction claimed. It looked really detailed and similar to that one, cept longer i think

I saw one similar bur out of plaster around when I started 12-14 years ago. All I can remember was it wasn't produced by any big company, but is was for mini's. Really BIG!
