Spelling Note: I've seen it spelled Perenty and Perentie. If anyone has an official spelling, let me know.

This is a new close assault 'Mech I designed for use in the arenas. Despite that, it does make a good name for itself outside the arenas.

==Overview:==
Once in office, President Avellar ordered a crash course upgrade of all Alliance industries, including the military defense companies. With an imperative to create a machine for export, the ADL design team was completely at a loss for how to design the new 'Mech. Inspiration was drawn from the world of nature when one of the engineers was reading a book on lizards, an interest of his. He read about the Perenty monitor's survival in the harsh Outback of Terra's Australian Continent and it's speed in killing its prey. Very quickly, the team began sketching out a design very similar to the reptile.
The Perenty is new advanced design from Alliance Defenders in the Outworlds Alliance. Going against the usual type of 'Mechs manufactured by such Periphery States, the Perenty is as advanced as many Inner Sphere designs. Designed with mostly short-range weaponry and a sharp power curve, the agile Perenty can rush up to its prey and eviscerate it with truly spectacular blast of short-range weaponry. Almost immediately, Blue Shot Weapons opened negotiations to obtain the rights to build Perenties on Solaris VII, pouring yet money foreign currency into the Alliance coffers.
Recently, the Perenty's aggressive nature has drawn criticism from some areas in the Alliance. Some believe the design is intended for a war of conquest.

==Capabilities:==
Central to the Perenty's survival and effectiveness is the agility that makes it hard to hit and hard to keep at bay. An Alliance Motors 210 fusion engine pushes the Perenty at up to 95 kph. With the new MASC technology the Perenty can sprint short distances at up to 130 kph. Not content with ground speed, the design team ordered the placement of Pitban LFT-50 jump jets placed in the torso. These jets allow the same range of flight as on the Merlin, another locally produced machine. With all this mobility, it can be incredibly difficult to force a Perenty into a disadvantageous position.
The Perenty's weaponry is among the best in the Inner Sphere. 2 medium and 2 light Lushann beam weapons form the main guns of the Perenty. Almost twenty percent more powerful and thirty percent more reliable than other lasers, Lushann lasers are respected around the Inner Sphere. In addition, the ADL factory has recently begun producing Star League-era Zone-Tone Streak Missile launchers, which acquires a lock three times faster than other launchers in use. Backing up the lasers and missiles are three Sperry Browning machine guns, weapons the Inner Sphere has relied on for almost a millennium.
The Perenty is also a psychological weapon; its muscular shape, angular armor and bullet shaped head make appear like a large reptile. The sight of what many subconsciously consider a predator has been known to impair the skill of enemy pilots. The humanoid shape of the Perenty is also useful for safety equipment; like other designs recently debuted in the Inner Sphere, the Perenty's whole head blasts away from the body on ejection.

==Variants:==
Alliance Defenders Limited offers a less expensive version of the Perenty; the PRN-T4 uses no advanced technology, but carries an extra heat sink. It has been sold mainly to private security firms and small periphery states.
Blue Shot offers a different version that is very popular in the Arenas on Solaris VII. The PRN-T11 offered by Blue Shot drops the MASC and small lasers to add triple strength mynomer and a deadly claw to the right arm.
Another field variant swaps the heatsinks for double strength models and replaces the lasers with more advanced extended range models.

==Deployment==
The Perenty has been sighted in limited numbers through out the Inner Sphere. Strangely, the Word of Blake has been purchasing large numbers of Perenties. Many also serve in the Arenas on Solaris VII.

drop a jump jet then add ferro-fibours armor.

you'll jet 97 percent max armor at little cost to performance.
