At last the TRUE Phoxnis Hawk IIC is found, now we can ditch that FASA fake.
How about a variant that mounts on LPL and two MPLs and drops a heat sink or two?

Easy enough...I willing to bet there would at least be three variants that the Clans would come with for the P-Hawk and idea I had was to drop the LAM part of the P-Hawk LAM and go with that version as the end all for the series, do you think that is good idea or not?

I am asking, if taking the LAM version of the P-Hawk (55 tonner) and removing the LAM conversion equipment and adjusting the weapons and such to fit Clan tech, would that be the best way to go to round out the series of mechs for the P-Hawk?

If you want to use the LAM as a base design for fluff reasons, go ahead. It might be interesting.
Otherwise that mech is exactly what the IIC should have been.

I believe the Phonix Hawk LAM was 50 tons. And to be honest other than LAM abilities it was no more impressive than the standard 45 ton version.

hey, its exactly what it should have been, BUT its not what they published and there for cannot be the IIC. to even suggest otherwise is like saying superman looks better in grey or that a GM should have designed a machine this way. its theres to do with as they please and if they publish the P-Hawk IIC at 80tons, then as much as i may disagree i have to accept it as standard.

IIRC, part of the purpose for making the thing 80 tons was to make it a nasty surprise. It still had the speed of the 45 ton version and cosmetically looked very similar. However, by upping the weight to that much they were able to add on twin UAC/10s and some machine guns as the armament.
The Griffen and Shadow Hawk both lost tonnage; it's all possible that the Pheonix Hawk can gain some.

I agree. Its a much better PHX IIC than the CBT/FASA atrocity.

Gain "some"? The thing pratically doubled in weight.
Hmmm....how about I design a Locust IIIC and make it say....100 tons...

Sounds like the 100 ton Hitman I once tried to do.
Honestly, tho, think of the idea behind the original Charger: an assault that had the speed of a medium. It's just that the Clans crammed some Ultra Autos on and used the name of a medium.

Disagree all you want, to me this is the P-Hawk IIC and the one from TR3055 is a mis-named assault mech...

You know Kraken the FASA thing they call the Phoenix Hawk IIC does have more in common with the Charger Assault mech than the P. Hawk of the 3025 days.
