I was just thinking about it and there are a few things I have never seen used or rarely used.
Things like:
Swarm rounds
AMS
Narc Beacons
iNarc
C3
C3i
Now I can see the C3 being used more often, but I almost never see players talking about using Swarm rounds. I never see mechs being built with a Narc launcher.
I know that the ECM makes a lot of this useless, but a lot of players don't use ECM because they think it's useless too.
It just seems like these things are underrated or forgotten.

dude i don't use narcs because of artemis IV, swarms are sweet becuase they are not effected by AMS and as long as you keep your enemy in front of you where they belong you should have no problems. C3 well i can't tell you how many times iv'e had my butt kicked by C3 equipped units. and ecm's hell i love them

AMS sees a lot of use in my groups games. And I have found that it can be as effect as armor IF you have enough ammo...a rough estimate my group came up with is that the AMS give you about it's weight in armor as protection against missiles, and the Clan version is 1.5 times better.
Swarm I use from time to time, depending on the mode I want for the battle. Best place I have found use for this one is one fighter and in the LRM Carriers.
Narc is used a lot in some of the Clan Omnis from the TR3050, but I don't recall if those configuration got used a lot.
And you know my stance on ECM from my ECM thread.

I use everything on that list excepting the "improved" equipment--nothing against it, just haven't had the chance yet.

I just never saw any of that stuff used. Well, rarely I should say. And I'm just as bad.

C3, C3i, and ecms were all just used extensively in the Monte Diablo worldwide event. Those who used them wisely greatly affected their battles.
In Chihawks game at TotalCon I used my Grand Dragons c3 to great success,(and my own destruction) to consistantly get perfect range for our Naginata, who dumped 3 LRMs and a PPC each round at a target across the board, but only using short range numbers.
I find that swarms bog down games more than any other piece of equipment, and thus never use them at cons or events. The few times I've used them at home, I wish I hadn't.

The thing about NARC is you can not design a single mech, you need to design a lance. Once the lance is equipted with NARC tipped missiles the issue becomes ugly. Imagine a Trebuchet with Narc, backed up with a Dragon, Javalin, and Griffin. Then all kinds of pain can be laid down. Also this allows you to home on different targets. ECM will shut this down but if enough mechs get homed, then one should be in the open.
But he actual best platform for NARC, is a VTOL, supported by tanks. NOw that would be nasty.

I never see Narc beacons or swarm rounds used. I used to use the AMS a lot, until I figured out that it sucks when played by the rules (my group had much better rules for it).
C3 I have seen used several times, and it powerful enough to make me consider putting ECM on every heavy and assault I design.
