A little snow and these mid-lantic wussies panic! My morning relief called out at 11pm last night because there was 2 inches of snow on the ground. He said the road was very slippery. Well, maybe if he had snow tires on his car and some weight in the trunk he wouldn't have trouble in the snow? Nah, what are the odds of that working.
Good God I miss New England, where people can drive in the snow, except for the first snowfall.

Well that just sucks!
I myself have never had a problem with snow. It seems to move in after I leave somewhere anyway, I only see it on holiday.
The most frustating was leaving a town that had been my home for 3 years as a kid, and the week after leaving, it snowed for the first time in over 25 years!!!!

There`s always someone who`s got trouble with snow, no matter what. We`ve been covered in snow since October, this winter`s been the coldest in ten years. And there are still big city idiot drivers who claim that they were surprised when the road was slippery or icy. Gee, it`s only been winter for a few months by now and they still think it`s something new and dangerous when it snows?

What are you talking about first snow not driving? I not only drive in the first snow, I make a point of doing it in the most dangerous way possible because its FUN!

I'd make damn sure to call out on some day he needs to be somewhere after his shift....and I'd let him know why I was doing that.

2 inches!?! 2 inches? God. You guys would die up in Canada. We haven't gotten alot of snow up here this year, and most of the winter has been around freezing, but still? 2 inches!?! That's pretty weak.

8" is quite a lot, even by Canadian standards. I think we may have about that much on the ground right now in total. And, this is the most snow we've had for years. Eastern Canada, and the NorthEastern US are pretty comparable for weather. Nova Scotia and Newfoundland were both hit with huge snowfalls in January, something we haven't seen out in Western Canada for many years.

AMEN! Nearly eveyone up in the Northeast (at least on the mountains like us mountainfolk) has either a quad with a snowblade, or a snowblower. We got two quads, each with a blade, and an antique (REALLLLLLLYYYYYYY old) snowblower that cant do more than a few inches at anytime. just the other day, they had bulldozers (NO LIE!!!) pushing the snow up onto the already 8 foor high snow drifts on both sides of the road. Yes I did say 8 feet...

It should be noted that the foot or so many of us in souther New England was forcasted to be 4"-6". Being a Friday that large amount of snow did result in very long lines...
....at the liquor stores. Was hardly anybody in the supermarkets.
BTW, another storm is coming for Monday
