Nice cover, but it's too "busy"...that kind of battle would never happen.

Of course not...
Now...can everyone find a few of their favorite 'Mechs, vehicles and fighters in there?

Sorry, I don't like it, too cluttered, and it reminds me of a bad copy of WH40K cover art.
What's the book about? _________________ Memento audare semper

That's what I thought too about the cover at first...but I soon came to like it very much...
Here's a description of what's in the book...
"The Classic BattleTech Combat Operations rules expansion is the most comprehensive rules system for campaign play ever published for BattleTech.
Modern Warfare: Provides players with a primer on how war is waged by each major faction in the BattleTech universe.
BattleTech Operations Rules: Provides expanded rules for the creation, running and play of any type of military force.
AeroTech 2 Operations Rules: Expanded rules provide additional depth of play for any AeroTech 2 game, as well as integrated BattleTech and AeroTech 2 play.
Infantry Platoon Construction: Extensive rules for constructing almost any type of standard infantry platoon found in the BattleTech universe are provided.
Strategic Game: A rules framework that allows players to run grand-scale campaigns utilizing every aspect of warfare-combat, technology, subterfuge and assassination, politics and more-is provided."-CBT website

Mechanized warfare shouldn't just be a copy of ancient warfare with huge groups of troops just charging into another huge group and hoping for the best.
And just from an artistic standpoint there is way too much happening in that picture.
For that kind of a book I'd have prefered something more along the lines of a bunch of generals around a map.

The more I look at that picture, the more I come to realize that that kind of battle would never happen.. THe only exception might be a clash between Victors and Katherine's forces during the FEDCOM Civil War.
And I also think a lot of people are right when they say artistically it has way to much goingon for its size.

You DO realize that, if you take together all the clues you've been given over the past few months, that you are likely looking at the Battle of Skye, don't you? Fanatical Word of Blake troops against fanatical Skye troops fighting to liberate their homeworld and Clan Wolf warriors set on revenge for the "Scouring of Tamar"? Set during the Jihad?
Tell me again that this wouldn't happen...

And tell me...which would have grabbed your attention more...the kind of cover you suggest or the one that was made? The kind of cover you suggest doesn't sell books...we've already had people say they'd buy the book just for this cover art alone, even if the content sucked...
And people have also already complained that the covers of the MWDA books are too plain, as they don't show 'Mechs duking it out...

"Colonel, there's been a slight calculation error regarding our Landing Zone. We were supposed to set down 500 kilometers from the enemy dropships, but someone forgot a symbol. We're coming down 500 meters from the enemy...."
