Automated Threat Annalasis and Responce Computer.
designed mostly for small manuverable units. the main project covers mechs. the ATARC is a high-speed computer that renders external sensor data into grades of threat and danger. the computer then responds when activated to each threat. this is usually done by overriding pilot control and performing evasive manuvers.
the idea is to randomize forward movement as to make targeting hard. the system has one major back draw. it provides an unstable locamotion for pilot. some have proven uncapable of handlin this, and have been damaged do to falls.
rules-
weight- 2tons
crit- 2
adds a +1 to be hit while active.
reduce running mp by 1.
can switched on or off during end phase.
ams fires at largest missile salvo.
while active add a +1 to all piloting skill rolls.

An interesting idea, but I must admit I see a few potential flaws.
For starters, where would this be mounted? Logic would dictate that it be mounted in the head (realistically, at least) but it is one critical too many.
Also, I understand how speed can hamper such equipment. However, I doubt that 'unstable locomotion' is a logical excuse. I'd suggest that you make it to where every time the mech ran, jumped, or sprinted, it lost some of the bonuses.
Also, what criteria would it use to suggest most dangerous unit? Something I ran into in Monte Diablo was where some people were ignoring the Fafnir to go after the Avatar, believing the C3 unit to be the biggest threat; however, the C3 net was never used.
I like the idea, but it's just a bit vague.

This reminds me of the so-called MECHCOMMANDER thing from the latest MECHWARRIOR novel...where you basically have a guy running the battle from the tactical feed from a lance, thus gaining some kind of advantage over the enemy...
This though seems to be more in the idea of keeping the battle on the ground and under control of the local officer...I do agree with Karken it's a little large in size...
