This is the first assault mech designed and built by the Outland Alliance .It is an expedeant that was built out of desparation and has a number of flaws typical of machines that are built out of desperation and show the results of a rapidly put together design that was not given a lot of development time before being rushed into service

==Overview:==
The King Crab II was origonaly a hand built machine built by Allis-Chalmers
for the Outland Alliance after the Amaris Coupe when it was feared that he
might find out about the illigitamate nephew of Richard Camroon and come
looking to kill him when it did not happen the production ceased because of
the high cost of the hand built machines as the OLA did not have the
facillitys to mass produce them and Harley-Davison was cranking out huge
numbers of ultra light mechs that were considered more cost effective since it
took almost a full year to hand build at a cost several times what it would
cost to mass produce in the inner sphere wheras Harley-Davison could produce
60-70 15 tonners for the same price at a rate of 8-12 a week.recently
Allis-Challmers has built a new plant that is capable of mass producing them
at a cost similar to inner sphere production.
==Capabilities:==
Mounting an XL engine has enabled Allas-Chalmers to upgrade the weaponry
replacing the standard ACs with ultras and increasing the rounds caried from
10 to 25
replacing the LRM 15 with an LRM 20 and up grading the large laser to an ER
even with double heat sinks it runs hot and heat manage ment is a must long
range fire is no problem it is when the mech gets in close that you realy have
to watch the heat the best way to use this mech is to double fire one AC and
single fire the other to keep heat under control double fireing both will add
6 points of heat above the maximum capacity of the heat sinks
==Deployment==
This mech is rather rare ODF pilots do not like its slow speed and heat
problems at this time Allis-chalmers is haveing a difficult time getting sale
to the ODF and is looking for outside sales to pick up the slack

How about dropping an UAC20 out, and popping in a gauss? That would allow you to down grade the LRM to a 15, and add in a couple of M lasers.
This would give you some regular long range damage, solve the heat problem, and give you some short range energy weapons for endurance. It might mean the difference of letting a mech go due to empty ammo bins, or loosing an expensive assault mech because it couldn't defend itself.

Not bad, although to fit the description of it being a "rushed design" there should be more flaws than just poor ammo placement and lack of case.

Many of the "flaws" were equpment faults such as faulty connections and poorly routed cables and coolant lines many of the first machines had to be returned to the manufacturer for major overhauls which contributed to high costs and the suspension of production there is some talk of restarting production but slow mechs are not popular with ODF mech warriors who are used to mechs with top speeds above 160 kph.The new Awesome variant is having trouble getting accepted forthe same reason dispite a slightly higher speed and much better heat dispersion.

Where are your folks located in the periphery?
Maybe my Homesteaders can help with some of your problems.
See my Circus mechs in the HMP mech submissions. I know you can't hang with the tech, but more efficient manufacture might help some.
