------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
Literally, the name means Divine Wind.

What the purpose of this mech is is not yet known; only that the DCMS is very
interested in seeing that the project makes it through to completion.

On the surface, the unit itself seems unexceptional. An ER Large Laser,
supported by an MRM 10, an LRM 5, and a Small Laser. Each launcher has a ton
of ammo and a CASE unit to protect it.

But this is the extent of the normalness. The unit boasts DHS, which are not
common in the DCMS. In addition, the mech's design appears to be abnormally
aerodynamic. While some question why this is important, others have yeilded a
stark theory: the Kamakaze may mark the DCMS' first attempts to re-discover
LAM technology. If so, then this is a development that must be watched.

==Capabilities:==
In-Game Notes:

Owing to the aerodynamic qualities of the unit, as well as a
better-than-normal neural interface, the pilot has the possibility of going
faster than normal.

Each round that this is attempted, the pilot must make a piloting skill roll
at a -1 penalty. If the roll succeeds, then the unit moves 1 MP faster.
Failure means that the pilot moves to full normal, but must make a save to
stay standing.

Lam technology with a name of Kamakaze?

What are you getting at? Why don't you strip off all the weapons and just use the "Stackpole" rule?

I like the design, hopefully the DCMS will use DHS more in their designs. My biggest pet peve is the upgraded Panther with ER PPC and single heat sinks... dumb @ss design, should've just left it alone.

If I wanted to do that, I'd create a 5 ton wheeled vehicle and give it a 25 rated engine.

There's a reason why I included the translation. The first time historically that the word was used was after a bad storm sank the boats of a large military about to invade Japan sometime during the 1700s or so.

Kamikaze, Divine Wind, the typhoon that destroyed Kublai Khan’s fleet, foiling his invasion of Japan in 1281.

I'd think most of us associate the word first with the WWII Japanese suicide air force. Planes filled with explosives, used mostly against naval targets. They built some kind of rocket-powered planes for it, IIRC.
And the Japanese navy actually had suicide torpedoes too.
