I just got through scrolling through the designs that were posted .I wanted to criteque them but I could not because of a lack of information .I have a difficult time trying to judge a mech without the weapon heat information, similarly with out the range value information it is very difficult to evaluate a spacecraft design, especialy if you want to make comparisons between differant craft I realize that the minmalist view of design posting is taken here but you still need to have basic information to understand what a design is all about there is a reason I post full TROs and that is Clarity A person should not have to break out the books and spend half an hour looking up stuff to figure out what a design is about.So please if you post a design if you would include that info it would make life easier

It may scare you a bit, but most folks here already have the books memorized. I have found I am having to grab the books more often tho'. I have been playing very rarely and find that my knowledge is leaking away and getting dated a bit.

I have much of the information memorized too .The real problem is the head calculations that have to be done when the information is absent especialy on larger mechs and warships If you have a program it is all right there and even if you have to do it by hand I have been designing for 10 years and did not have a computer until February of this year and the TROs I did by hand had more info than the computer generated ones.So I feel it is just more courtious to supply all the information.Trying to head calculate the firing arcs on a posted design gives me a headache.If you have a mech with a large weapon load it gets rough trying to head figure the weapon heat espeacialy when the weapons are numerous and are all differant.

Last night Nightward posted about 8 threads with over a dozen designs I was able to comment on his Cival sevice mechs.I wanted to critique his warships but it was just to difficult to figure out the specs as I see it it should not be a major undertaking to analyze a design ,you have the info when you do it you should make it avalable when you post it

All the information you’re complaining about me not providing is, in fact, right there…listed uder the “Mass Breakdowns” section. If you have trouble doing the math in your head, either grab a calculator or plug them into The Drawing Board as (I suspect) the rest of us do.
In the future I can include a Max Weapon Heat vs Heat Sink section, but as to posting the weapon range values as well…c’mon. If you don’t know the ranges by heart already…
Personally, my pet peeve on every Internet forum I visit is the fact that so many posters seem to believe that punctuation and grammar are optional. Reading a post that is barely coherent and has no punctuation makes my eyes bleed. It takes all of 30 seconds to proof-read a post. Bad spelling I can live with, but bad grammar and punctuation drives me up the wall.

Yes I do know the weapon values.but a warship especialy a large one has a lot of weapons which means a lot of math work .If you are designing the thing you have the info and not everbody memorizes the books and to expect them to is the hieght of arrogance when I post designs I make sure I have all the info before I got HMAreo I posted some hand done small craft I made sure that all the info was there . It is a curtousy thing if you want a desighn evaluated you should have the courtesy to make it easy for the evalluator to proccess the infomation if it is to difficult to proccess people will just pass it by meaning you have just waisted your time

As you can see Mo you're the only one that has an issue here.
Might I suggest you work on a way on your end to make it easier for you as opposed to asking everyone else to change for you?

Actualy most of the design posts here 2/3rds to 3/4trs do not have this problem It is only a small number of posters to begin with and the tiny number of posters on this thread is much to small to reach that or any other conclusion at this point.
