==Overview:==
The Thunderclap class is a new model that is becoming available for planetary
defense.

What is so unique about the unit is two things. The first is that the ship is
entirely pre-fab in construction; you simply put the ship together yourself.
The other is that the unit has a landing pad right behind the rear turret. The
pad itself isn't very big, but it can still hold several VTOLs.

The main armaments are twin Long Tom artillery units mounted in each turret.
Each turret also boasts an AC/2, an SRM 6, an LRM 20, and an AMS system. The
front turret also sports an ER PPC. The sides are protected by an SRM 6 rack
and an LRM 15 rack each; both are set up to fire torpedos, as are the SRM and
LRM units to the front and rear.

The unit also has a C3 Master unit in the front of the vessel, as well as a
10-ton cargo bay and a cargo lift hoist near the VTOL pad. Also, the design is
such that there are two small 'rest' areas built into the ship. These areas
are by no means comfortable but are still (slightly) better than the average
hard plastic chair.

==Capabilities:==
Game Rules:

We're talking easily half the size of a dropship here, so remember that in
game play.

The VTOLs are exposed the entire time that they are aboard the ship. If a hit
to the ship would hit the turret either the left or right side, the player may
declare that the hit instead hits one of the VTOLs. Also, although the pad can
hold up to 100 tons of VTOLs, only four actual units can rest on it at a given
time. VSTOLs must take off and land as if VTOLs. As of yet, there are no plans
for a unit which would allow VSTOLs to land as if normal craft; if there was,
then only one unit could be on the pad at a time and all shots to the rear
turret or to the right/left sides automatically hit the aircraft first.
Landing would also require a bombing *and* a piloting check.
