What are the rules concerning infantry using artillery.
I vaguely remember something from MaxTech, but can't recall the details.
I am asking as a player in my latest venture wants to use infantry to man some Arrow IV's for the group. Specifically, they want to use field guns.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As I stated, field guns tend to be Autocannons only. Using artillery as field guns would require a rules conversion. The reason I would say go for it is cause infantry today use artillery all the time (the national guard post near my house has tons of man used howitizers. Hey, to any military people out there, with the switch to a lighter more mobile army that Rumsfeld wants to make, will NH loose its artillery???? I'm just curious cause that base is kind of a big money thing for my home town. Thanks).
Besides. I LOVE INFANTRY! They will destroy all BattleMechs. Muhaahahahahaha

Sure thing, just make some kind of trailer that can be pulled by something like a J-27 and let the infantry do the work.

Or perhaps storming the MechWarrior barracks late at night?

Any Infantry platoon commander should be given Forward Observer status and basic skill.
That is what the LT. is for! Arty and FAS. The infantry's job has been to slow the other side down to allow these guys to do the major killing.
14 men in Vietnam, On a hill with a radio, destroyed 2 or 3 Rgts. of NVA. Air, arty and Naval guns, oh my!
