Please tell me I'm not the only one tht thinks it more than a little crappy that I am paying to get mechs in a baook I already have. I bought the FMs and got those mechs and now I get those same ones in this new TRO.
Just like the same exact information on the history of the Clans in a half a dozen books.
Just cheesy.

It's chessey that 80% of the book is mechs from almost all of the FMs that came out after TRO3060...they do try to make it up with some fighters and dropships and vehicles...
Off hand guess is the mechs are about even on new not seen before to ones from the FMs...
Me, I am still waiting for that mech (Defience or what ever it was called) from that GDL story a few years back...the one that as written in the novel could not be made with the current construction rules...

Well, let's see. Out of 15 Clan Mechs we have already seen 4 (Hellion, Hellfire, Blood Kite, and Savage Coyote) so over 25% of those Clan Mechs aren't new...and that isn't including the fact that the Mad Cat Mk II stats were released in RS:U.
For the Inner Sphere we have 10 out of 30(Anubis, Stiletto, Sha Yu, No-Dachi, Lao Hu, Perseus, Templar, Akuma, Fafnir, and Vanquisher) Fully 1/3 of the mechs we already have. Plus we already have the stats for another 7.
It's just rediculous that we are paying for the same stuff over and over again.

Well...you have the stats for all the battle armors and the rules for all the equipment, for the game and for miniature combat and for the construction of vehicles, 'Mechs and ProtoMechs in many seperate products...was there any need for the BMR or especially the BMRr?
Or LosTech...did we really need all those weapons and whatnot compiled into one book?
Personally, I got the above books BECAUSE all the info was compiled into one volume...

There is a difference between having updated rules all in one place and this.
This is just republishing to make a quick buck without having to come up with anything new (or as much). We already had the info on these mechs. It wasn't like it was that hard to open the appropriate FM for a mech.
And all the stuff in LosTech sin't the same because it was being presented for the first time in MechWarrior format.

Wait...let me get this straight...so many people are complaining that we already have too many 'Mechs, and now you want more?
Personally, I don't see the difference in having the rules in one place and having the 'Mechs in one place...
Seriously, we had many types of 'Mechs in other places too, such as the Longbow and the Wolfhound and Mackie...was there this sort of outcry when they were reprinted in the 3058 and 3050 TROs?
What about all the Wolf's Dragoons 'Mechs that were reprinted from the Wolf's Dragoons sourcebook into the 3050 TRO (granted, these had LosTech updates) and the 3058 TRO (for the vehicles)? Or those found in the Big Mac Attack or the Black Thornes or the Northwind Highlanders scenario books, etc.?
Why am I seeing complaint here, but not about those times? The precedent was already set long ago, and by FASA...so, what is the problem?

I think the problem is folks are getting tired of paying money for something to find out that they had Half of the mechs etc...already in other books and the new stuff was well okay but not all that great so to speak.
The example you give of the Dragoons stuff is kind of weak considering FASA never redid the TR3025 to have those mech as they were done up in the WD sourcebook, and if you follow your example then we should have seen a TR3030 or something to show the changes to the game from the 4th War. We didn't see this. Now the flip side is not everyone bought the FMs so getting them in a TRO is the best way to let them know that they are out there. BUT again the problem comes up that some of the sheets for some of these "new" mechs have been published before, so we are again paying for something we already have.
Now if they followed the TR3050 idea and gave both the previous published stats as well as stats that have be upgraded or redone in the TRO then I don't Cadet or anyone else would say much since there is something new for the those mechs already out there in the FMs...

I don't want more mechs, but if I have to have them, then I want to buy a book and just not keep getting the same info over and over.
It wasn't the same with TRO 3057. They collected a handful of mechs that had been published over the years. With the FMs they collected mechs that we had been specifically told would not be republished elsewhere then FanPro turns around and the first thing they give us has a full third of it just grabbed from stuff published only a year earlier.
Who do they think their audience is? People that already have the FMs mostly. Those mechs in TRO3058 were mostly from scenario packs long since out of print before a lot of players even knew what BattleTech was.

it isn't just the mechs that bother me. I mean we've had the history of the Clans in 5 or 6 books now. It's just lazy for the writers to constantly rehash the same information. There are passages in MW Guide to the Clans that are exactly the same as they are in Clans: WoK. It just gets old after a while.
Then we get games that we know in advance won't be supported. Aerotech, BattleTroops, BattleForce 1&2, BattleSpace... Occassionally we get a new stat or two. But nothing else to support it. There is no reason at all we should not have had record sheets for BattleSpace or Aerotech 2.
I'm just tired of the halfassed way the game is being run.

Karagin: HAHAHA! Us Germans have a TRO 3030. Or, actually, a TRO 3031. They made the 3026 into a volume depicting the status of after the 4th SW. That means all the Wolf's Dragoons vehicles were included, with their cool illustrations. Sadly, the 'mechs weren't. Which is especially puzzling since there WERE in fact 5 'mechs published in that book: Flea (not the WD one - the one with the LL & 2 SL), Raven, Wolfhound, Cataphract, Longbow; all of which could at one stage or another be found in either the Liao Sourcebook or (semi-)official fanzines.
All in all these little extras make TRO:3031 into a book that can seriously challenge TRO:3025 for best BT publication ever! _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior
