Inventive, but that hatchet will only be of use against other lights. Get that close to a heavy or assault unit in this 'mech and you're going to get your head smashed in. The C3 slave is a good idea, but in order to act as a forward spotter, this 'mech should also have ECM and a Beagle Probe; otherwise hidden infantry are going to rip its legs off. The original Spider could loose both of its side torsos and loose none of its offensive effectiveness, a great advantage in a light 'mech. The decision to mount an XL engine destroys this capability. In a tight spot, this 'mech will have to pull back to safety whereas the original Spider could fight on.

While I wholeheartedly agree with the ECM, Probe, And details on heavy and assault mechs, this was actually designed primarily as a light mech hunter killer. works quite well in that roll. Infantry can be a problem here, but it never works alone and if it's partner does not warn it that the infantry are there and I was the pilot, I'd turn and use that hatchet on my partner.
