Anybody know of a good vehicle,vtol, etc designer i can get my hands on? Prefereably without paying for it?

the Dropship Command website in the links section here has a vehicle designer that they made. Also do a websearch for vehicle factory 3

Doesnt seem to be very good, dropship command one wont install (only got it to download after several attepts) and can't find the vehicle factory thingy, anyone got any links?

The DSC Vehicle Editor works just fine for me. What OS are you running? Perhaps you got a corrupted download, server problems or something. Anyways the Vehicle Factory can be found at www.pryderockindustries.com in his Vehicle Prog section. Also Mordel will eventually upload the last version and a beta update to it of the Vehicle Factory anyways, it just might take him some time to sort through the 400+ MB zip file I sent him awhile back. The man has a life other than here so I understand

If you have a few quid to spare you might want to look into Heavymetal's HMVee it is easily the best program around. It is licensed by FanPro and Rick gives the best tech support of ANY software designer.

He said he would prefer I say you get what you pay for and in this case the Tech support you get is worth the price alone.

No disrespect to Rick, who I know is an occasional poster here, but I simply do not see the point of shelling out the money for HMPro when there are several excellent freeware 'mech designers out there. Sure, they don't all have every single option, but between them I'm sure you can design pretty much anything you want...or...gasp...you might even use a pencil, paper, and calculator.

While I agree with Mud mostly on the free issue, also look at the fact that you get free updates for life. That makes HMP worth it, which is why when I can afford it I'm getting HMPlus, however, untill then Drawing Board 2.0.23 and Vehicle Factory will be my main designers.

I don't know about you, but I find that HMAero is a godsend when it comes to designing DropShips, JumpShips and WarShips...

Does anyone still play Battlespace, or has it basically been supplanted by Aerospace 2. I rarely play either, although I own Battlespace and the old Aerotech game from the eighties.

I have the battlespace box set and the old aerotech box set....played them a little but the group I played with at that time didn't like air or space battles so it was groundpounding for me

Well let me tell you the kind of tech support Rick gives I first got on line 14 months ago knowing next to nothing about computers a little over a month after I got on line and had posted a fair number of Mech designs I decided to post some vehicle designs being unfamiliar with computers and the program I started post the BV calculations thinking they were the TRO (I did not really look at them before I started posting them I just started cranking them out) soon after I started some of the guys Hitman was one of them PMed me to point out the error so I tried to find the TRO screen and could not figure out were it was the HMPro program has an icon for TROs that HMVee lacks and the HMVee icon for the BV calculation resembles the HMPro TRO icon.I panicked and in desperation PMed my cell phone number to Rick less than three minutes later it rang Rick was calling long distance from South Carolina to Detroit and he walked me through the process.Mow I defy you to find ANYBODY else who gives that level of support.If you wonder why the people at HMP show such fierce loyalty to Rick it is because of that kind of support .THAT is what you pay for when you buy Heavymetal programs.
