in the mercanary's handbook 3055, it lists the percentages of support per support type.
now the wording and lack of a good example have always caused me greif. anybody got any suggestions? is it the percentage of support the units create or what?
i am very confuseled. wish i could find my FM:Merc.

Say your unit requires 100,000 support points from all the different types of support personnel(techs, medics, admin,etc..).
Now break that down into the required percentages and here's what you need to have according to the book.
C3 staff: 5% or 5,000 SP.
Admin: 10% or 10,000 SP.
Medics: 10% or 10,000 SP.
Specialists: 5% or 5,000 SP.
Tech Support: 70% or 70,000 SP.
Those are the minimums. I usually try to have about an extra 25-50% more tech support and about double in medical staff, especially if I have infantry.
Hope this helps a little. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

is that 100000 from all of its units [mechs, tanks, infantry, ect]?
if so, then why does the book say you should have no less then 50% of your total support otherwise your unit spends more time in the hanger then on the field when your required to have 100000 percent support?
see my delema.

Vagabond.....calm down and breathe.....
Ahh...isn't that better?
Now Let us say that your unit's weapons...mechs tank, grunts, fighters, etc... REQUIRE 100,000 Support points. It's a BIG unit.
Now you're support units...techs, medics, admin, etc... have the following minimum support requirements for that unit.
C3 staff is 5%
Medical is 10%
Admin is 10%
Specialists are 5%
Techs are 70%
You still with me?
Now if all your combat units require 100,000 Support points then your support units must generate the following amounts.
C3 Staff needs 5,000
Medical needs 10,000
Admin needs 10,000
Specialists need 5,000
Technicians need 70,000
These are the MINIMUMS according to the book. If your support units generate less than these amounts then you will notice that your maintenance will become more expensive as things will break, people get sick, paychecks get lost, urgent comminques get sent to the wrong units, etc....
If your unit requires less support points then you must calculate the minimums according to your units requirements.
Hopefully you have become slightly less confused.
If not just tell me your unit's compositions and experience by unit and I will help you figure out your support cost minimums. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?
