 ==Overview:==
 In 3062, the MAF High Command was approached by the Colonial Marshals with a
 proposal to upgrade their standing forces. The Colonial Marshals, in
 particular Force Marshal Dirk McEvans, were adament that the current Mechs
 fielded by the Marshals were inadequate to the task, and entreaties to the
 Taurian liason were either ignored or rebuffed. The MAF commanders were wary
 at first, the events of Christmas 3060 fresh in their minds. They were
 convinced however, by battleROM footage of a Colonial Marshal giving his life
 to stave off a pirate attack. This, and the continuing requests from Force
 Marshal McEvans, convinced them a new Mech was needed, and thus the Auramvorax
 was born.
 
 ==Capabilities:==
 The AVW-2X Auramvorax, or Auram for short, was designed for lone planetary
 defense on worlds with less than adequate supplies of ammunition, where combat
 with pirates was a likely occurence. Designed on a modified Thunderbolt
 chassis, obtained from Taurus Territorial Arms, the Auram is built to be
 sturdy and reliable. Carrying nearly a full armor load for its size, it can
 withstand the punishment of more than a few 20-25 ton light Mechs, the type
 preferred by pirate raiders. For weapons, it mounts a pair of the reliable
 Sunglow Type 2 Large Lasers, backed up by a trio of Diverse Optics Type 18
 Medium Lasers. For close in work, the Auram carries twin 20MM Gatling Guns. As
 a final design tweak, 6 Light Rocket Lauchers were added, giving the Auram
 additional medium-long range firewpower at the expense of ammunition loads.
 With a standard engine installed, the Auram is very durable, and CASE was
 installed for the machine gun ammo to ensue a long battle lifespan. Finally,
 for use in urban environments, the Auram mounts four jump jets, allowing it
 maneuver in streets and over most buldings.
 
 ==Battle History:==
 The Auram began shipping in late 3062, arriving as part of the standard rearm
 shipments to the Colonial Marshals. It immediately received a baptism in fire
 on Aristos, a realitively new colony, when a band of pirates attacked in early
 April. The resident Marshal, Iskander Mirphin, fought a running battle in the
 warehouse district of Arikel, the capital and sole city on Aristos. Using the
 Auram's mobility, he managed to face no more than two pirate Mechs at a time,
 neatly destroying them piecemeal. He then chased the transports that followed
 them out of the city, and the pirates withdrew without taking anything.
 
 ==Variants:==
 Only one variant has been suggested. The 2V, as the variant will be
 designated, will carry a third Sunglow, dropping all the RL-10's and and two
 heat sinks to do so. It has already been noted that overheating will be an
 issue, but the MAF designers feel that the increased firepower may be worth
 it. Possibly due to its design for shipment to line units, the Marshals have
 shown no interest in the variant.
 
 ==Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:==
 Currently, only Marshal Mirphin has earned any fame with the Auramvorax, but
 it is assured that more will follow. Marshal Murphin, who has been awarded the
 Colonial Medal of Merit for his actions, is being considered for a MAF
 decoration as well.
 
 ==Deployment==
 The Auramvorax is being shipped in small numbers to the Colonial Marshals and
 MAF militia units at this time. The design specs were also given to the
 Taurians for their assistamce in creating the design, and the Taurian militias
 are beginning to field it as well. Thus far, the CCAF has shown no interest,
 but given the recent actions of Marshal Mirphin, that may change.
