What version did you get?
You should just have to unzip it and run the megamek batch file. You need the Java or Microsoft virtual machine installed for it to run on.

I'll get the CVS version, click on the alrger of the two files when you choose this option, the other is the source code.

The reason for getting the CVS version is because of the swanky features it has compared to the plain vanilla version. It's a littel less stable though.

Like Moonlapse said, all you need is either a Java VM from Sun or M$ version. I recommend's Sun's.

If you've got the Java VM installed, it should run fine. Just unzip it into one place, then start the MegaMek.bat file. There's a readme in the zip file; that's how I figured it out. (for some reason I never thought of running the batch file)

Also of note if you use a Mac (just in case..) just doubleclick the megamek.jar file. You need OS X 10.3.5 and the latest java update. Works well on me Powerbook

Yes it does Sir Henry
I kept testing it till the new java update came on about two months back and it started working.
It has its quirks but at least you play now.

Did you download MegemekNET? Or regular Megamek?

Are sure you have the program, and not the source code? I just got the latest Meg Mek (10-17-04) last night, and it works fine for me.

Here's a link to the Mega Mek download page. The very first file on the list is Mega Mek v0.29-stable-10. The bold link is a description; the smaller link below it is the zip file. Download the zip file, and unzip it into a folder (I called my folder Mega Mek). One of the files you just unzipped should be MegaMek.bat. Run it, and it should work. I downloaded this version last night as well; I had no problems at all.
