As above, i dont find CASE to be of much use at all because vehicles are gonna blow either way if u destroy any part of the vehicle.

I'd want it if I were in the vehicle though. It might save your hide. _________________ "The enemy's gate is down."

Got to agree, a vehicle CASE might not do much, but it does keep your crewmen safe. This is especially important for morale. If the crew know they'll most likely survive an explosion, they'll be willing to fight harder.
It's also good for keeping a veteran or elite crew alive.

Exactly the things I consider when looking at vehicles. If I'm doing a campaign - even a short series of battles - CASE is good. If it's just a blow-shit-up battle I'll take big guns, no matter if it's CASEd.

Its been a while since Ive seen a rule book, but from what I recall, CASE causes the back armor and structure of a vehicle to blow out, and saves the crew. Id go with it because its easier to repair or cannibalize a CASE-damaged vehicle than one thats been blown to hell and back in an ammo or fuel explosion. AND, if nothing else, you can take the surviving crew and dragoon them into the infantry, if needed.

In just a straight up game with your buddies, it's not that useful. However, in a campaign setting where crew replacement could be a problem, or in a RPG setting, then it is a wonderfully useful thing. (BTW, the same applies to Mechs, IMNSHO.)

As a tanker, i would say yes.A lucky hit to the Ammo can could cause a vehicle to blow up.A CASE would prevent this. You will lose your ammo, but you will have your life. _________________ \"I will not have my ship shot out from under me FIRE!!!\"

As said above, depends on the situation. If you're just sending in the cannon fodder, no point in putting in CASE. Now, if you want those troops to come back, Case is a good idea.
Generally, I like to bring people back.
Besides, if an ammo fire containment blast door is good enough for the M1A1 Abrams MBT, it's good enough for me. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

heh looks like im the odd one out lol. I generally dont expect much from vehicles around the 15 -25 tons and puttting a CASE seems rather wasteful.
even then im not too great a fan of explosive ammo either...

Ive seen some of the lighter designs do some damage, but then once they get pinned down its not hard to kill them.
I think that lighter vehicles, like in the 10 to 20 ton range, dont really need CASE. Heck, the shot that sets off the ammo just about kills them to begin with.

We use condemmed prisoners for the lighter vehicles

Ah, Kurita's infamous Chain Gang missions. Do your survivors at least get Citizenship? Or a ride home?
