Guys, i need a second opinion on which artillery vehicle would be most effective when assaulting a city.A Freind of mine recommended a Marksman, while another frined said the Mobile Long Tom was the best.Whats all your opinions?

The Long Tom has the blast power to lay waste to large portions of the city. But if I was trying to minimize collateral damage, I'd pick the Thor and its Thumper cannon. The Marksman's Sniper cannon is the middleground.

It all depends on if the city is populated by humans or clanners.

Seriously, minimizing damage to civilians is always good if you intend to stay in the city. Homing Arrow IV missiles with a fighter acting as TAG spotter could be good?

i try not to use artillery in a crowded city full of civvies.

Homing Arrow IVs are a nice choice, but semi-guided LRMs with a Tag guy is useful too.

Depends on what you want the Arty to do. If youre looking for some prescision work and want to score points with the press, homing Arrow IVs are the best, and can be mounted on Mechs if you absolutely have to.
If youre looking for quick and dirty, "make THAT thing go away and dont worry about being neat" work, use the Long Toms.

Whenever I need artillery I try to work in my design the Hell Fire. Here is the link to webpage where I have it posted for now:

http://www.angelfire.com/myband/twseifert/page5.html

I posted some other variants of it a long itme back. you could search the site for them. Got some interesting critiques on them too. I don't have all the files on this computer, since I'm in the middle of a move. Once I get settled in a few weeks I can send them to you if your interested.

EDIT: gave up on the hypertext link and just put in the address. It worked for me when I previewed it though. Oh well. I'm not much of a page designer.

Looks like your link is broken, there. Something about the file not being on the server.

Clanners have cities? I thought that they lived in caves and 'Mech bays.

Aff, Galaxy Commander. Please get it done before the Dark Age starts.

Looks like you accidentaly put that in the wrong thread

How 'bout we ask a moderator to move it to the "My Unit" thread, and delete this post?

And thanks much for the praise!
