Nice tank, almost classical example of it's kind. One big gun, vehicles won't like the LB-X too much, strong armor for it's size and average speed. Those small pulse lasers are probably there instead of MGs and AMS can help it to destroy some missile attacks.

I added the SPL´s cause i see them as a modern age MG, MdL don´t looked right in that place.
Since we play with the level 3 rule for infantery damage they do more damage to infantry than the MdL´s!

Yes I know this rule Tried replacing the SPLs with MPL? Same tonnage, damage and heat, double range.

This tank had an presecutor in RoboTech!
We constructed it about 14 years ago so i don´t know the exact RoboTech stats but it had 2 small pulselike anti infantry energy weapons above the turret! So we choosed the small pulse lasers.

The LB-X is certainly my favorite AC/10! And as much as I despise the AMS it actually has some use for a vehicle. It will stop a few missile volleys, perhaps giving you time to fire the AC a few times more. The SPLs could be switched for MGs, though.

I choosed the small pulse laser because of certain circumstances (see above).
The AMS has more use on vehicles than on mechs because any hit can destroy a vehicle (lots of deadly crits! ), so it can save you from death by a SRM-6 volley or such!
On Mechs only use AMS if you´re fully armored and can afford the weight.

For BattleTech I would change that (and maybe install some AMS ammo), but thats what are the field mods for (excuse my English, if it seems a little strange, but I'm unable to express myself better).

But that one will count as a heavy vehicle if you ship it on a dropship. Keep it at 50 tons and it's light.

Why get an XL engine tank when you can get 2 heavy mechs for the same price ?
Its a trade-off really. You can have something more expensive and lighter or something heavier while easier on the pockets.
And im leaning to the fatter and heavier tank since i always play games with monetary issues.

Oh, it was just an example!
I don´t like Challengers anyway cause of there high cost and mad mix of weapons!
